I think the assignable jack is for pedal assignable - Sustain, Soft, Sostenuto or Rhythm Start/Stop ONLY

No, this model does not support Mic input for karaoke singing.

SOURCE: I have a casio wk-200 piano. I bought headphones

The keyboard has a mic jack that is the same size as the headphones. You probably put the headphone plug into the wrong jack is all.

SOURCE: How do you replace the adaptor jack on a Casio

Unfortunately the adapter jacks are a bit of a weak point on many keyboards but it is quite seldom the jack socket itself that is at fault.
Often the sockets are soldered directly on to the printed circuit board and are prone to either one of the soldered legs breaking, or even the circuit board itself cracking around the jack socket.
Whilst it is generally possible, with care, to resolder a broken leg on the socket if the actual circuit board has cracked the whole board will have to be replaced.
If the actual jack socket itself is damaged it should be possible to snip through the legs and remove it before soldering a new one on to the stumps of the old legs. this is likely to prove easier than trying to solder directly onto the circuit board, unless this is something that you are experienced at doing.

Apparently you can purchase a full service manual for the Casio WK-1200 here for a modest price but I have not used this source myself so cannot vouch for how good it might be.http://www.tradebit.com/filedetail.php/2084335-repair-manual-casio-wk-1200-electronic-keyboard

Why is there no sound output?

Hi, I am answering this generically, because there are a few things that can cause this on a lot of keyboards.
  1. Make sure there are no headphones connected. I have removed headphones and the 3.5mm plug comes out leaving the adaptor, this still cuts the speakers.
  2. Sometimes the switch on the headphone socket does not make properly, work the headphone jack in and out a few times.
  3. Local MIDI should be set to ON, if you cannot find this, as it is often buried in some deep menu, link MIDI out to MIDI in with a cable.
  4. Do a reset, be careful as some restore factory defaults and you will lose user presets, so back up, MIDI dump first, others allow resets that do not affect the voices.
  5. connect to your usual software (sequencer, patch librarian, etc) and see if the keyboard has been muted, volume set to zero etc.
  6. Is the volume knob turned up?
All the best, Chris the fader.

Re: Casio WK-210. Audacity, Jet Audio and Ctrl Pnl allow me to choose a USB PnP "record from" option, however, no sound is being recorded from the Casio to the PC. What am I doing wrong. Many...

Pat, the USB output on the Casio WK-210 is only capable of sending and receiving MIDI information. It's not sending any digital or analog audio. Audacity is primarily for sound file editing.

In order to use the keyboard to record onto your computer you can connect an audio cable from the 1/8" stereo mini-jack to an input on your computer. Then you can record into Audacity.

Or you can acquire MIDI recording software (ie. Logic, Cubase) and then using the USB output on the keyboard, you can control and record multiple MIDI instruments in those programs.

It is easy if you are electronically adept. It invilves opening the unit and soldering, however, finding the exact tyoe of jack to fit may be a problem.

The music to sing along with apparently MUST come from a disk played on the unit. It appears that the external audio jacks are just to use the unit as either a boombox or to drive a larger sound system. You will have to convert your IPOD music into a Karaoke compatible CD to be able to sing along with it... They probably detect MIC input and mute any incoming signals from the RCA jack inputs,

SMF converter for wk-500, Does it exist?

No.

I have a Wk-8000 & a CDP-200R, the later is the same as wk-500 but with 88 weighted hammer keys.

Since wk-500 can play SMF (Midi 0 & 1) format directly from a SD card and there is enough polyphony to play anything, I don't find any real reason to convert SMF to any "Casio Format". Just get a 2GB SD card and put your SMF files in the MUSDAT folder for the SD CARD using your PC/MAC.

Yamaha 61 key keyboard midi usb connected but what next

Depending on what you want to do...

If it's only music Mixing, you will have to plug your keyboard via audio jack to the line in of your computer. Then Audacity (free soft) can do the job.

If you want to edit midi file with your keybord you will need midi editor software like Linux-Rosegarden or if under windows try LMMS (all free soft of course).

Good luck
