SOURCE: Changing the battery for my Fossil Watch

You have to have a tool to unscrew the back of the watch. I figured this out the hard way. I suggest taking it to a jewler for after I replaced my battery, the stinking thing still did not work. This sounds like a commom problem as I read more about them. Hope this helped.

Get battery out again. Clean (scrape) all the battery related contacts using steel needle or small screwdriver. Make sure the battery is not underpowered. Refit the battery keeping the right polarity and set the watch.

SOURCE: How do I set my Fossil watch? It has three dials

Fossil do not have a list of instructions under model numbers but issue a list of generic instructions which you have to wade through to find the one that suits your watch.

Go to http://www.fossil.com/en_US/shop/customer_care/static/fossil-Instructions.html and put your cursor over each of the ones listed in the Multifunction section until you reach the one that looks nearest yours and download the file.

I have found a fossil watch model BG-2103. I cannot get the back off to change the battery, can you tell me how to get the back off and how much this watch cost.

mcdevito75 here, Look for any Notch in the cover that match a notch in the case, use a knife with a sharp blade and place the knife in the notch and with a slight twisting motion the cover should pop off. Depending on the age of the watch and the functions cost could be anywhere betwwen $25.00----$60.00 Fossil watches are also collectables.

Cant get back off

You need a very thin knife but I would not suggest you do it yourself. Remember, as hard as it is to get off, it is almost as hard to get back on. Fossil watches are tough to change the battery for, you also have to be careful of the crystal, they break easily.

I would suggest you just take it to a jeweler and pay the $6-$10. for them to do it.

Hope this helps.
