My mixer runs well but after using it, it slows down and stops. If you get it running it starts turning real slow.

I suggest the motor is about to seize up. There is usually no fix for this. Sorry.

My kitchen-aid stand mixer won't spin when turned off. When on and mixing, the motor starts to "dog", or slow down, when it's mixing something as easy as cookie dough.

If the motor itself is slowing down, that is one thing. However, if you mean by "dog" that there is what sounds as if a gear is slipping then the solution is straight forward. The worm (follower) gear needs to be replaced.

There are videos on the net which show how to do this and the Service Manual can be found at:

Kitchenaid motor slows

If it slows down when mixing, it is most likely that the mixer is being asked to do more than it is capable of. If it slows down when nothing is in the bowl, then the motor/gears/lubrication needs looking after.

Motor may be burned out

Any time an electrical motor burned out, a smoke clound come out and a very unpleasant smell come out. If you did not anticipate the above then look for problem elsewhere.

Motor is making noise and grinding sound - only runs at slow speed, Seeing green light inside the motor area

The green light is probably sparks. Does the light eminate from the rear? If so, it sounds like there is an issue with the control plate. Taking the rear off should hopefully help you spot what is wrong with it. I suspect the board has broken or got stuck.

Clicking noises. Mixer doesn't have enough power to mix.

You have a drive gear that runs off the motor gear. That gear has a problem. It has either broke away from the weld or you have a pin or key sheared.

Mixer motor shut down

Mine did almost the exact same thing one day. I have the Artisian Model, It would do it on any of the lowest speeds. Dont know if this will help you or not but I just ran mine the next day on all the way high with the spash guard on for making whipped cream for about 6 minutes full throttle and for some reason it hasnt went slow and shut itself off since then. Mine is about 7 months old. I called Kitchen Aid but their customer service all of a sudden seems to not know english worth a poo...

Try running yours on full blast for 5 minutes with something simple in the bowl. If its a 250 watt or higher make whipped water out of 2 cups of water and a tablespoon of cornstarch. Run it till you get what looks like whipped cream. Oh yea. Use the Balloon whip. The lubrication in the motor is supposed to last for at least 5 years but I have seen on numerous post's that if you run them on all the way for at least 5 minutes the oil will even out in the motor. Running the mixers at low speed alot will cause the oil inside not to move as freely since the motor doesnt heat up the oil in the gears.

Good luck.
