I want my Tally 4347 to print faster.

Hi Sheila.
I've never owned a Tally, but here are some generic speed-up tips, based on my Samsung M/F, so your menu may be different.
Activate:
Eco-mode or economy mode.
Draft mode.
Choose 'speed' over 'quality'.
Mono rather than color (for documents).
These steps both speed up PPM and save toner/ink.
Regards, Clive.

What is the cause of error +0001 +131 Hardware Alarm, Check Ribbon 000002+5085+3010 on a Tally Genicom 7265 serial printer. Any help would be great

The Printhead is not where the printer expects it to be. Usually the carriage is jammed, which can be caused by a faulty ribbon. If the carriage is not moving freely with the printer off try to find what is causing the bind.

My tally 4347 i08 powers on, but stays in the initialization loop. it displays hdw trap, and restarts initialization. how can we stop this

If the 4347-i08 is connected to a computer system when it displays the HDW TRAP error when powered on I would recommend disconnecting the printer from the computer system, then power the printer ON as a free standing printer. If the HDW Error is seen when you power the printer on when it is not connected to a computer system or print server, this indicates there may be a fault with the printer. I believe the "HDW TRAP" error is displayed due to an unhandled error in the printers firmware. There may be a number of causes for this error, if this error is seen when the printer is free standing and not connected to any computer system, It is worth checking the following; Check the print head is correctly seated in the printer and is free to move. Check the paper path to ensure there are no obstructions to paper motion. Check all electrical connections. Check for any thing which may cause a short circuit within the printer, ie loose wires, foreign bodies etc. Check the main logic board connects to the interconnect board and ther are no bent pins etc. If you continue to see the error when the printer is not connected to the computer system, it is likely the printer is relatively new as the model is relatively new therefore should be covered under a warranty in most classes, it may be best to contact your reseller or Dascom, the manufacturer directly. If the printer powers on ok free standing then this indicates there may be a connectivity or data format issue. Try printing a menu print on the printer to see if it is capable of printing. If the printer is connected via the parallel interface either directly to a terminal or to an external print server like a JetDirect, the problem may be caused by bi-directional communication disrupting the printer in an unexpected way. You can disable Bi-Dirctional communication, I believe this will be called Cx-Bid within the extended menu on the 4347. To change this setting; Power the printer on holding down the ONLINE button. When the printer finishes initialising release the ONLINE button Press the button order NEXT on the display (button 4) repeatedly until you see CX-BID on the top line of the display. Press the button under CX-BID to select the option Using button 2 or 3 change this setting to OFF Press button 1 under SET to save the setting. Cycle the power on the printer. On any external print server you may also need to set the parrallel interface to a Uni-Directional type. If the problem is only seen when print jobs are received from the system, check; The driver or device type selected on th host system Ensure the emulation selected on the printer matches the host system, and vice versa. Try printing a plane text file to the printer to see if this will print this will identify if a particular job is causing a disruption. If the printer is replacing a pre existing printer, ensure the menu setting on the 4347 are set up in the same way as the old printer. If the problems continue perhaps if you advise how the printer is connected and to what sort of system and when the error is seen I may be able to offer some additional suggestions. In the meantime I hope this is of some help.

My printer is showing error as "hardware alarm +1308 +131 --- 000004+0381+1317" wat could be the problem

The hardware error indicated on your printer is indicating that the printer is encountering problems when moving the print head.

This error can be indicated if there is any thing which may be preventing print head movement, things you can check include;

The printer ribbon is not jammed and is located correctly in the printer,
You can also check to ensure there is no paper jam of loose paper which may prevent print head movement,
You can also check the carriage shaft to ensure it is free from paper dust or any other obstructions.
With the printer powered off, the print head should slide freely across the width of the printer, you can then see if there is any obstruction to the printhead

Hi There. I have Tally T2265 Serial Matrix Printer. It shows "Hardware Alarm & Check Ribbon Error" after printing 2 or 3 pages. Sometime it prints 7-8 pages and sometime it prints 2-3lines...

The check ribbon message on the 2265 indicates the printer is detecting problems with moving the print head. You have ruled out the ribbon as being the cause of the problem by using ribbons from another printer.
Before suspecting other components check the printer model, if the printer is a 2265+ check to ensure the correct ribbon is used. Note the ribbon for the 2265+ is different to the 2265 ribbon. The 2265+ has a ribbon sensor to detect the ribbon moving. If the printer is a 2265+ the part number for the ribbon should be 062471.

If the correct ribbon is used the problem could be the timing strip which could be dirty or warn. Try cleaning this and check for damage.
The problem can also be caused by a dirty or lubricated carriage shaft, the carriage shaft should be clean and dry running - Keep clean of any type of lubricant.
The problem can also be caused by the timing station on the carriage, the carriage motor.
