Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. The start and pre-wash usually flash due to a clogged drain hose or the water pump. You’ll need to drain the water out of the base and also check to see if there's something stuck inside the pump or the drain hose connected to the pump (pump is usually located at the bottom and towards the back of the washing machine). If the drain line isn't clogged, you may have a problem with the water pump such as a frozen pulley or a broken impeller. If that's the case replace the water pump. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks

It ispossible that the machine does not start off the cycle because there are errorsdue to feedback from the inputs. For the program to start up the main programcontroller must initiate the INLET/MOTOR/DRAIN pump/ valve to open up and allow each function to be driven starting fromthe flow of water into the drum as also the drain valve to open to exit thewater at the point of the program cycle. If this does not happen then thevoltage at the valve/motor/pump must be checked or the fault relates to novoltage from the controller. This meansthe controller is a suspect. If thewater flows though the inlet then the flow pressure should be good, if not theinlet valve is bad or there is dirt in the filter. Also check the flow at theinlet of the water line. Once the water comes into the system the WATER LEVELSENSOR - normally a pressure switch- must activate at the preset/chosen levelto give the signal to the program controller to switch on the motor. What ismost important for the motor to start functioning is that the door switch mustbe ON when the door is shut or this will be an error for starting the motor forrinse and wash.Check thislink to replace the inlet valve:http://www.espares.co.uk/advice/washing-machines/a/7/1408/how-to-replace-the-inlet-valve-on-a-washer-dr.html Finallyafter the wash the drain valve will be activated, the water is allowed to comein to rinse and then finally the dry spin with the drain valve/pump activatedso as to drain off all the water from the clothes during the spin.Make surethat a fault in any of the cycle will relate to the specified action, so checkthe command from the program module and then the executing device be it thevalve or motor or pump. Hoover nextra washing machine door wont lock / cycle start

sounds like the door lock mechanism. if this cannot signal it has engaged, to the board, no other function will work (you don't want the washer going with the door open, trust me :) )

Your door lock/latch is broken, this is a common issue with front loading washing machines and the only way to fix it is to replace the door switch.

Hoover hpe 236. water not draining, stops mid cycle, lights flash

Have you checked the pump filter, and or that the pump is actually working. if it spins o/k with no water in, then I would suspect a draining problem.
If filter clean and pump o/k, then it could be a control module fault. if this were the case, then it would probably be wiser to purchase a new washer.
Hope this is of some help to you.

Hoover HNL7166 'Start Delay' light flashing

Hoover (Nextra series) washing machines

The 'Start' & 'Pause' LED's will flash together to indicate the error code. You have to count the flashes within each 15 second period to get that error code. The start and the pause LED's will flash together at 1Hz (i.e 1 flash per second) within that 15 second time frame, then will continue and show again within another 15secs and so on.

1 Flash = Interlock fault
2 Flashes = Fill time-out
3 flashes = Drain time-out
4 flashes = Overfill fault presure pipe blocked
5 flashes = NTC error
6 flashes = faulty control board
7 flashes = Motor jammed
8 flashes = Tacho fault
9 flashes = Motor triac on module board
10 flashes = Prog Selector or wiring fault
