I have a Mackie 406M Powered Mixer. can't get sound out of it anymore. all the input level set lights stays on. any suggestions

That sounds like the amp board died. Mackie parts can be hard to source, and Mackie is really slow to ship, so I suggest taking it to a Mackie authorized service center. Here's a link-

My Mackie HD1531 has a high pitched whistling sound, all other speakers work fine with the same power connection and desk connection. It whistles regardless of whether it has a sound input or not.

Sounds like a problem with the horn amp in that cabinet. This is not a user fixable problem and needs to go to the shop. Here is a link to the Mackie support page where you can find a link to the repair shop list.

How can I hook up Mackies to a home theater Receiver (RCA/XLR to Speaker wire)?

Yes, that's how they're made: cable cut to length, connectors attached, tested, packaged and shipped.

The amp is likely blown. This is not DIY unless you are competent at electronics.

You can try this site:

This MAY be very close to your system... there are several parts to the schematic in this compressed file...

OFTEN companies do NOT re-engineer things so one has to use intution as to what the model number thisng might be listed...

You often find modules are identical between units even though the model is labelled differentely.

My mackie 1604 pro keeps cutting out on on the right hand output intermitantly is this a regular fault if so please advise

No. It should not cut out. Must be a circuit problem. Get in touch with the shop you bought it from or a really good repairer and get them to have a professional look at it but get a quote first.
Good Luck
