Did you try a reset? Just check the manual on how to reset your device.

Try holding down the power button until the tablet goes blank, then turn it back on.

Have you tried the pinhole reset method yet.?

I'm having exactly the same problem. At first I thought it might be the battery, but if I unplug it, I can still hear facebook alerts, email alerts, etc and if I play around with it (turn it from side to side and press the lockout button repetitively) it will flash the lock screen for an instant - sometimes for a few enticing seconds - and then black. If I plug the charger in while it's powered off I can see the battery icon just fine. The screen WORKS - I just can't see the "desktop". I can't figure out how to do a hardcore reset other than the little pinhole button in the back, but it seems like that just powers it off. I can't see the screen if it gives any options, so I dunno. PLEASE help if you know anything.

Maybe the OS is corrupted, try to reinstall the OS
