Panasonic switching to standby mode on its own

When turning my 10 year old Panasonic CRT TV on (either from standby mode or at the switch) no picture (or sound) appears and it then quickly, within 5-10 seconds, switches itself into standby mode. This happens consistently, not sporadically - i.e. the set doesn't work. Is this a recognised symptom and if so can it be fixed, and how? I like my CRT TV and don't want to get ripped off being forced into buying LCD/Plasma.

My panasonic crt tv stuck on standby mode only

Hi. Replace the batteries in you remote control already ?
Normally, every TV can be switched on using the local "channel up/dwn " buttons. If this does not work, then there is a more serious problem at hand.

I have a panosoinic tv model CT-2013SA and my son typed in a parental code and forgot it

Hello

There is a way to unlock Panasonic TVs. It will work on most of the Panasonic sets. Just try it.

Panasonic sets need to be reset to clear the v-chip settings. To do this, put it in standby mode, that is, switch on the set by its front panel power switch, and put it off by remote hanset, [standby position], then press the POWER and ACTION buttons at the same time and then turn the power off. The set should reset to the factory defaults, and reset the v-chip.
OK.

Hi, I have a Panasonic W32D2DP its about 5 years old. It worked fine until about 3 weeks ago. It started cutting off and going to standby. It worked fine after for a few more hours, then would do it...

It's going to be cheaper to buy a new TV. Once you get this problem solved, another one will pop up. The parts for a TV that's 5 years old are not going to be cheap. Most TV repair shops stop carrying parts after 4 years, & the manufacturer stops making them after 7-10 years. With a semi-major purchase like a TV, it's best to purchase an extended warranty. ipmart. com offers a cheap repair manual. You'll be suprised how expensive repair shops can be when it involves "out-of-warranty" work.
