    Kevin,
I hope to hear back from you very soon. My printer is a Canon PIXMA MX700.
    Thank you
    Dory

  • doryjoeaz May 03, 2009

After installing the print head and cartridges on my Canon PIXMA MX700 printer, the 'ink lamp light' is supposed to light red, but no lights appear.

  • doryjoeaz May 04, 2009

Yes I have installed the print head. That is, if it is the black unit with slots in which the ink tanks fit. I've tried to remove the ink tanks. Have tried, unsuccessfully, to remove the print head. I reload the ink tanks and still the light does not come on.
    Thanks for your prompt reply.

  • doryjoeaz May 04, 2009

I have followed all the instructions, but there was never a light that came on. I am unable to remove the print head. It seems firmly settled and I don't want to force it.

HI,
Have you installed the print head? It's a separate item in a foil colored sealed package. It must be installed and locked in before inserting the ink tanks. If you have done this and still get no lights on the ink tanks, there is something wrong with the unit itself.
please rate my suggestion...

Nstalled ink tanks into the appropriate slots, and instructions say the 'ink lamp lights red", but there is no light.

Normally the red light comes on when the ink tank is empty.
When a new tank is inserted the light goes out.
