I am having a similiar problem as most but have not been able to solve the issue so far. The auto shutoff engaged...I emptied the tank and tried to continue but the brushes would not turn nor was there any suction. The motor is also louder as if the auto shutoff is still engaged or something is clogged. I replaced both the turbine and the waster container, cleaned the filter, brushes, etc...still nothing as changed. Am I missing something? Tim

You have to take the top cover off, turn unit over and from the bottom, remove the screws, 2 of them will be long, they hold the turbine down. Turn it back over and removethe cover. There 2 more screws at the front of the turbine (#23 and the hoses attached to it. Then it will come off.

My problem was that the metal "transmission" had it's upper and lower bearings frozen. I sprayed WD-40 and let it sit for awhile. I then proceeded to work it free. It was quite rusty inside the cover plate, leading me to believe that water somehow entered the housing or they used a water based lubricant from the factory. Water based lubricants are generally cheaper than oil based so I'm tending to lead that way. The "transmission" is the metal rod with hypoid type gear in it that turns the 2 plastic gears. It is a press fit to the turbine wheel, so twisting a flat blade screwdriver under the turbine wheel will remove it. Make sure the lower bearing is free to turn easily. I also used some anti-sieze compound on the gears.
SOURCE: No Suction
The water channel hose could be torn. you can check by removing the lower tank and tilting it backwards, it is located in the lower section. could also be the filter cover. it is needed for full suction control.
