Vivitar 35-200 macro FD mount lens for Canon doesn't extend to telephoto. It seems to be stuck at 35mm. Any tips? Disassemble, special buttons, tricks?

It's an old school pull-push zoom lens. So the problem is that you can't pull or push.

Did you try putting the camera and lens in Manual Mode and focusing by hand? On Many cameras there is a tiny switch on the lens that limits your focus ability to either FULL or LIMIT.

SOURCE: Focusing to infinity

Hey redbarnz,
If the lens won't focus to infinity then there is probably something physically wrong with the lens. With the dominance of digital equipment you can find fantastic deals on manual focus 35 mm lenses. I would look at Canon manual focus lenses rather than sticking with vivitar. I hope this helps!

Sincerely,
Allan

SOURCE: Canon Vivitar 75-205MM Macro (compatibility?)

If the Vivitar has an FD mount for older Canons, then no, you'll need an adapter ring to convert the lens. They are available on sites like ebay

Does Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 DG Macro Telephoto Zoom Lens fit canon eos rebel

Sigma makes their lenses with a variety of camera mounts. If you get the lens with a Canon mount then yes, it will fit any EOS Rebel camera body. A lens with a Pentax mount, for example, will not fit a Canon camera.

I have a canon Zoom FD 70-210mm 1:4 lens off a SLR camera. Will it work with digital cameras?

No Canon FD lenses cannot be used on Canon EOS system cameras (all autofocus Canons except for the ancient and obsolete Canon T-series 35mm SLR's from the 1980's use the EOS mount).

There are very few cameras which can take them (35mm or digital) without some kind of expensive mounting converter which would include corrective optics.

If in good condition though it's a great lens and can be used on plenty of old Canon classic 35mm SLR models such as the AE1, AT-1 , AV-1 and Canon T-series, all of which are cheap//free and readily available.

I have a vivitar 62mm camera lens, is there any value to this lens? It was used on a Cannon AE-1 35mm camera.

That is one peculiar focal length- in fact, I think you have given us the filter thread size (62mm diameter fitting filter). So I can't comment on the lens as I am not sure what it is.

There are some Canon digital cameras that can take the lenses from the old SLR film camera range, so if this is an interesting lens, like a zoom or telephoto, it might be worth something. Most film camera stuff now is unwanted, unless it is collectable. A Vivitar lens with a Canon mount is not collectable. These were less expensive third party lenses, not the top whack Canon made ones.

I have a vivitar telephoto lens for the camera, but not sure how to mount the lens. If I take the outer ring off, I dont know if the lens that came with the camera is suppose to also unscrew, or if there...

None of these Canon Powershot cameras have a lens which will remove.
The ring is only for a special kind of add on lens for either wide angle or telephoto, which will only fit this camera or possibly a few other models.

Never try to unscrew the lens, you will ruin the lens permanently.

I can't get the macro adapter to work ?

Put the macro adapter on the camera and move the camera in and out from an object to try to focus the object in the display. Remember, macro is very small, very close and very small field-of-focus. I hope this helps.

Vivitar series 1,70-210mm tele photo.when camera is tilted, lense will move in or out.drives me nuts

It's called "zoom creep" and not all that uncommon. You can try sliding a sheet of paper or a thin film under the ring to tighten it up, or use tape to hold it in place once you've got what you wanted. I would NOT squirt any liquids inside to unlubricate it.

How to fis additional lens for canon power shot S1 IS

On the lower right side of the lens (as viewed from the rear) is a small button that releases the ring around the lens barrel. Removing the ring reveals a bayonet-style mounting flash that allows you to attach a lens adapter for extended telephoto, wide angle, or macro capabilities.
