I have trouble starting the tractor

I just bought a used 4500 lawn tractor and I have no users manual. There seems to be a lot of safety switches to set before I can even start the tractor. What are they?

First, make sure you are using fresh gas. Gas breaks down quickly with the ethanol they put in it now.

Next, you must apply the brake before you start the tractor, and be sitting in the seat.

Make sure it is neutral and make sure the blade is not engaged.

Apply the choke, then start the tractor, once the tractor starts running turn off the choke. let the engine run for a bit, then put it to full throttle.

If you get off the seat without the blades off, and the break on, the engine will shut off.

Why after using my Kubota b2601 tractor I shut it off and when I went to start it all I get is one click

Husqy mower, Honda engine. Carbarator and fuel lines clean. Will start and run for 20-30 seconds then dies out. How can i fix this without a $250+ bill.

I have already checked seat safety switches-good. When tractor is running and brake released stops running, why? Also I have checked PTO switch-good.

Lawn trc murray 17.5 hp 42in cut

my specialty,but,you didnt post what the problem is,so,here goes,if it wont start,it is probably a bad safety switch,take the small black wire off of the coil,if it starts,then its a safety switch,if it doesnt then it is the coil,if it only clicks with a charged battery,it is the solenoid,turn on your key and short between the two big bolts on it if it starts it is bad,if you need a belt,i will need the numbers under the seat,otherwise i will try to find them for you,i will post a user manual for you here, Murray 425607x52A 42 34 Lawn Tractor Parts

Why T 3000 craftman lawn tractor Starts efficiently, engine dies when clutch engaged

Check the limit switches. They may not be opening. You have several switches.

1.Blade engage switch

2.Seat Switch

3.Brake switch

4.Gear Switch.

There is a specific order to these switches and One has to be engaged to allow another to work. Its safety built into the lawn tractor. You just need to download the operators manual. And possibly download the shop manual to get locations of these switches.

These diagrams may not be your model but the switches are used by a lot of tractor companies. These will give you a general idea on how things work.

well first an owner's manual is how to operate it, not repair it. you can buy small engine repair books on amazon.com and eBay.

there are several safety switches to keep the mower from hurting people. all these switches are connected to a common relay which disables the engine unless the switches are telling it AOK. there are hundreds of identical questions posted here every summer about the craftsman lawn tractors and the problem relates to a bad safety switch or the relay. you are going to have to examine each of them and do some trouble shooting

Tractor starts and runs fine, but if I let out the clutch (even in neutral) or try to start the mower deck it dies.

I'm going to take a guess at this one. If I'm not on my seat and try to do either of those things, my machine stalls.
Check your seat safety switch.
