Gateway MX6927 Windows Xp won't boot

My gateway MX6927 started freeze on Windows logo when you turn on the laptop. I tried to boot with Windows Xp Pro CD from CD room but nothing happens ( I did change the bios to boot first from CD, also I tried to boot from external CD reader). After that I got the new HD and tried to install the Windows but it will not start anyway. Also I tried to boot HD from USB connection and I got an error “MBR error”. Also I tried to remove one and another memory stick, to check if the problem will gone, nothing. Any other suggestions?

Put your xp disk in the optical drive.Turn off computer. Turn computer back on as soon as you turn it on start tapping f 12 constantly.it should go the boot menu giving you a choice of booting from cd or hard drive choose boot from cd.Be sure you choose repair rather than new installation or you could loose all your information stored on the hard drive,I personally would try safe mode first you can get to safe mode by tapping f 6 when you first turn on your computer.

Gateway MP8708 Won't boot past BIOS and won't boot into CD/USB/Safe Mode on XP - Blank screen with keyboard dead - Num locks on and wireless light

Somehow your MBR (Master Boot Record) likely got corrupted or possibly your hard drive went bad coincidentally.

Simply, you will start your computer from your Windows CD/DVD install disk, then when at a DOS prompt ( D:\ ) you will then type: FDISK /MBR (press enter).

Find your Operating System install DVD and start your computer with it, then follow instructions within this discussion:
Restore Windows XP MBR without Windows XP disc

Alternatively, review my search results for other instructions:
fdisk mbr windows xp Google Search

Windows won't start up? Well, try this Download Tenorshare Data Recovery from its offical site and install it. Burn it into CD/DVD, or USB flash, put into the computer you need to repair, Bios setting. It can make sure your important data will not lose. Best of luck

My gateway MX6927 freezes

If you can't get run the recovery cd's and you know the cd drive is good then it has to be the hard drive causing the lockups cause that means data isn't able to be copied over to it.

Gateway computer - cannot boot up--

At boot up press F2 and enter BIOS. Here check if your HDD is recognized. If yes Ten your Windows is corrupted and needs to be reinstalled. How to install and save your data follow the link below:
Crashed Windows : No Problem
If the HDD is not being recognized then run Auto Detect to recognize the HDD. If it works fine, if not then the HDD may need a change.

Power switch pushed in

Power switch is pressed and then a circuit operates in similar way as RELAY works.

But due to internal brush or transistor failures this can't retain its proper power and hence you computer doesn't look working good.

So please change it and its very cheap also...

Booting up

Try to start up with the windows XP CD in the drive, it will give you some options to reinstall or repair XP. If this doesnot work, ensure that your BIOS will startup from CD.
