There are applications available that have varying degrees of success in recovering data from formatted hard drives. The bigger problem is whether or not you have written anything else to the drive since formatting it. These applications can recover the partition table and the File Allocation Table if things are pretty much pristine. What ever you do, don't put anything else on the drive you formatted. This will only corrupt things further and make recovery harder. If the data is crucial data, you may be better served getting a data recovery service to do it for you, although this can be very expensive and has no guarantee of success.
