We want to progam a universal remote for our new Daeynyx LCD - TV, MODEL DN-26D, We have tried several universal remotes but no luck. Now we bought a Phillips Universal Remote but can not seem to get the right code. We tried all 300!!! Please help us find the correct code, thanks
Your TV is made by Daewoo and is distributed by Daytek. If you call the 800 number on the warranty card you will reach Daytek.
So, what you need to know is this:
#1. A lot of new products won't have a website available. That does not
say anything to their quality or the company, just that you've bought a
new product and you're one of the first purchasers.
#2. A lot of times if you buy a "no name" TV, you're actually getting
components inside the TV that are made by brand name manufacturers. For
example, "Prima" uses LG panels in some of their plasma TVs (as well as
Daytek). How do I know this? Because I'm the authorized service
provider for Daytek, and Prima and quite a few other "no name" TVs, and
I've been working on LCD and Plasma since they came out, as well as
having worked in the electronics repair industry for over 20 years. I
own an Insignia 42" LCD and am quite happy with it.
#3. Most new products that have remote controls will not have codes
available for them no matter what brand of universal remote you buy.
You have to wait for the people who make the universal remote to have
time to make a code for this new brand of TV. This can take up to a
year for cable companies, and cheaper universal remotes may never get
the code. Expensive universal remotes may be able to have their
firmware updated through the internet, so adoption of new codes for new
products may happen faster.
#4. Stores like Walmart and Costco are excellent places to buy products
like this because they usually have a "no questions asked" return
policy if you get the TV back to the store within the stores time limit
for returns (some stores are 15 days, some are 30 days, phone the store
and ask them). I had purchased a 40" Digistar LCD TV from Walmart what
had a flickering problem, I took it back the next day without any
problem at all. Then I bought a 42" Insignia Plasma TV from Future Shop
that I wasn't happy with. I took it back 3 days later and had no
problem at all. As long as you know the stores policy for returns and
follow the policy, you won't have any problems either.
#5. Try to avoid buying big-ticket items from smaller stores unless you
know their return policies. Some smaller stores will not accept returns
on LCD monitors, TVs or plasma TVs but instead require you to
handle any problems through the manufacturer.
#6. Best bet it to call Daytek and ask them if they know of any universal remotes that work on that particular model.
Daenyx is a company from India......if you look at their website, there is 5 spelling mistakes in the introduction... They cannot even take the time to proof read.....I would stay away from their products.....seems like they do not pay attention to detail.
Never had trouble like this before with a television. The television is a Daenyx.

I have just gotten off the phone with Daytek. There is not a code available for their 19 inch tv or tv/dvd combo. They were very vague wether one would be avaible in the future. However they can supply a new tv remote if thats all you need. The number is 1-877-329-8351. Good luck.

Ok a couple of things here. (i'm assuming you mean a daenyx, not daeYnyx, correct?)
#1. don't buy a tv that doesn't even have a website, i can't find jack on this brand. even if it is a great deal unless you got a great warranty because LCD tv's are very sensitive and I have found that LCDs aren't like old tube tv's there more like toilet paper, you get what you pay for, know what i mean? (i'm not trying to be a jerk, i've just been working in electronics for a long time now and I feel like i've got a pretty good background to make these statements)
#2. Look on the back of your tv and see if it is made by a parent company (most likely it is). I've tried to research it for ya and talk to some people and the most common belief is it is made by daewoo
#3. Have you tried to auto-search method?
#4. What model is the Phillips universal remote you bought.
#5. If this is just one of the cheap universals you buy at walmart i would suggest returning it (if possible) and then go to best buy and try going with a top shelf universal such as a Philips Prestigo SRU8015. You'll shell out a buck fifty for it but remember you get what you pay for, with this remote there are no codes, it has a LCD display on the remote, you can program up to 15 devices (tv, vcr, dvd, surround sound, stereo, etc.) and all you do is go through the menu tell it what device, what model number and bam, it's programmed. And it's also a remote that you can download new programming for new models that will be coming out. It's worth the money! check it out

#6 Where did you buy this tv? if it was an electronics store they should be able to provide you with some information on who produces the tv and how to contact them. If it was online or a general store (walmart, kmart, costco, etc) you're up the creek.
I've searched high and low and cannot find any information on this brand whatsoever. My suggestion is to return this tv and get a better brand, like i said that's not a jerk comment and i'm not a salesman, i do tv repair and I am telling you when you dissassemble a samsung or sony and compare it to say a vizeo or a durabrand anybody can see the difference in quality and technology. do yourself a favor and upgrade! sorry i can't help anymore
With the rca 4 in 1 the code for daewoo(083) will get the remote working though the buttons arent the right ones lol but hey at least if you are patient enough to figure what each button does you can get the stupid dv-833S to start the movies, the stupid thing with these is that they have buttons on it but not the one you need to start a dvd which is the enter button. Oh with the dv-833s and rca 4 in 1 with code 083 the 5 is the enter button :)

hey thanks for all the info. we would have bought a better known brand, but it is just for the bedroom and it was a gift. we didn't pay a penny!! We actually have moved it to a lower spot in the room, instead of on the high boy dresser, and now the remote that came with it works a lot better, our daughter got the new programmable remote for her t.v., so we are all happy.

9'' daewoo tv/dvd combo remote won't work. bought a zenith 5 device remote but it only controls tv. already tried all codes that came with remote for that brand also code search but no luck. everything works manually.

It appears I'm not the only one with a problem with the Daenyx TV/DVD Combo 'Remote Control' (Model # DN191D) - ours just simply QUIT working - can't even turn the TV off & on with it! (& it is not the batteries!) I just bought it for my 92 year old mother who lives in a Care Home in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, in January 2008 - I live in Reno, Nevada, USA - so the Daenyx 800 # doesn't work from down here & I'm unable to find a direct # to call them! Is there anyone who can help me out please!
