Freezer works fine...refrigerator section

Works intermittently. It will go okay for a while then makes a buzzing noise while it runs. Then a day or two later the fridge section stops cooling. It will start working again in a few hours or the next day.

I think I have a similar problem. The noise I hear is a vibration or humming sound. I took the back panel off the inside of the freezer to get to the fan. When i press on the fan assembly, the buzzing stops. I've tightened all the screws and tried putting rubber spacers between the fan assembly and the freezer walls but the buzzing persists, but it's intermittent. Are these fans multi-speed, or is this a result of condensation/frost build up on the fan itself?Fan on the way out? Fridge out of balance? I'll try anything to stop the hum.

Have you noticed more frost in the freezer than usual? It sounds like you may have moisture building up and freezing around evaporator fan. The fan blade hitting ice will cause the buzzing until it stops it completely or the evaporator clogs with frost and blocks airflow. If you have frost on food in freezer, check the door seals and make sure nothing is keeping doors from closing completely if you release them about 6" from cabinet.

If no excessive moisture, it may be the fan motor going out. When fridge isn't cooling properly, open the freezer and see if you hear the fan running.

Should I replace the fan in my GE refridge Model GNE25JSKKFSS, after leaving the freezer drawer ajar over night?

It's possible that the fan blades are hitting ice, frost, or debris, causing the noise. The fan might also be struggling to turn if there's any obstruction or if it's damaged

When a start relay and the coil that opens the water for the ice maker or the water dispenser begin to weaken they some times buzz. Its possible you will need to either replace the=> 67003753 Water Inlet Valve

Hello. I have this fridge-freezer, but unfortunately I can't remember when it was bought. I guess it must be between 7 and 12 years ago! It's worked fine but a couple of days ago it started making...

Hi,
By your description you may have a compressor problem. The noise is makes if a buzzing noise when it struggle to start (locked up). The clicking noise would be the relay clicking out on overload to the compressor.
If your correct on the date, you will be better off replacing the unit then looking into the repair, a normal compressor change out can run over 500.00. Your best bet is to cut your losses and replace the unit before spending any more money on it.
Good Luck

The refrigerator is making an intermittent buzzing noise. It is a zzzzzzzzz sound, if that helps. It's doing it about every five minutes or so. Model # ABB2527DEW SN# 10128265EP

Bottom freezer works fine....upper refrigerator has stopped working...

Hard to say with this description of the problem but sounds like your having a problem with the compressor starting consistantly. If it is a tecumpseh compressor it is most likely a problem. Take the back off the refrigerator and there will be sticker on the compressor that will tell what kind it is. Should say either embraco(the good kind) or will have a blue picture of an indian head (tecumpseh).
