If this noise only occurs when the water is entering during the fill stage(the very first part after initiating the machine. And when the first spin cycle has completed and begins to refill for a second rinse. Then it would be worn out inlet valves or the electronics are playing up. To check which one it is put a multi meter across the terminals of the inlet valve and measure the resistance. A Value between 800 - 1200 ohms means the valve is working and the electronics become suspect. Another method for diagnosing this problem is detailed in this PDF http://moustachedor.free.fr/lg/LG-1259.pdf Go down to the QC test section and test Each system until you discover the noise. If the noise does not become evident please reply. I suggest always have an experienced professional do all work on and in appliances This is not a recommendation mearly an informative documentation
Testimonial: "Thank you for the quick response Matt. I have my husband looking into the inlet valves. Just to be clear, it makes the noise only when water is entering the tub after the washer has already filled and water is spraying down from inside the washer. There is no noise when the water is entering the washing machine itself and filling with water. Again thank you so much for your help. I will let you know if you solved our problem, I'm hoping so!!"
Ok Matt, the PDF you gave us was very helpful. I ran the washer through test mode. It made the noise when I got to step 11, the circulation pump. We are trying to research this but having a difficult time figuring out exactly what part it is. Is it the drain pump? The manual say circulation pump. Thanks again!!
Unfortunately I cannot find an exact schematic of your machine but they are all pretty much the same.
Add a Commentsaying that the drain pump and the circulation pump are the same thing, it has a switch which swaps the feed pipe and drain pipe, the drain pipe is connected when it's draining and the feed pipe when the water is recirculating. As you have said it only makes noise when water is initially sprayed in the pump itself is working correctly. I would look at the pump fins for debris and the circulation hoses. If this fails to rectify the problem please post a photo of the underside of the washer so I can see it
Matt, we took apart the washer to find the pump. The drain hose in the front of the machine was blocked with sand and dirt. The washer actually has a drain pump and a circulation pump, they are almost connected together. The drain pump is on the right and circulation pump on the left. We ordered a new circulation pump, hopefully things will be good after we replace it. Thank you for all of your info and help, we really appreciate it!! I'll let you know if it works or not, thanks again!!
Got the circulation pump switched, washer is working great. Thanks again Matt for all your help!!!!

SOURCE: loud noise while agitating in wash cycle
If you begin dissassembly from the tub down, you wil come to the transmission with the spindle sticking out of it. If you undo the bendable tabs all around the transmission it comes apart in two halves. Careful, its full of oil. The spindle has a plastic gear bolted to the bottom of it. It meshes with other gears in the tranny. It has sheered teath and is making the noise.
SOURCE: washer making buzzing sound during
If I understand correctly, the washer made a sound in the spin cycle but didn't actually spin the clothes dry?
If so you may have something in the pump that is not allowing it to pump out. Disassemble the pump and make sure it is clear of any debris.
SOURCE: Washer does not spin when filled with water. Makes loud noise
It doesn't spin
If your washer won't spin, check these:
It doesn't pump or spin
It pumps, but doesn't spin
It spins only with the lid closed
It doesn't pump or spin
If it doesn't pump water out or spin, check to see if the motor is running, then proceed as follows:
It pumps, but doesn't spin
If your washer pumps out the water but doesn't spin, check these:
It spins only with the lid closed
For safety, washing machines are made so that they spin only with the lid closed. The lid switch prevents the spinning action when the lid is up.

hi, i would suggest the timer/programmer is faultyas it is ok on the other cycles, the noises you have described may have caused some damage,

It could be that the springs have become lazy (stretched) and not supporting the spinning weight as good as they once did or as happened to me one of the shock absorbers at the base of the unit has come adrift from its securing point. Replacement parts are easily available but you will need someone strong to fit them with all that new tension.
