Symptoms: When you open Google Chrome, you receive a pop-up error message that says "Your profile could not be opened correctly. Some features may be unavailable. Please check that the profile exists and you have permission to read and write its contents.
Problem Cause: You have corruption in your Google Chrome profile data.
Solutions:

  2. Open Terminal.
  3. Change directory (cd) to /Users/{user}/Library/Application Support/Google/Chrome/Default
  4. Delete Web Data and History files: rm -rf History*; rm -rf Web\ Data;
  5. Start Google Chrome and the error should be gone.
Windows 7
  1. Quit Google Chrome.
  2. Open Computer.
  3. Navigate to C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\
  4. Delete the file named "Web Data"
  5. Start Google Chrome and the error should be gone.
Windows XP
  1. Quit Google Chrome.
  2. Open Computer.
  3. Turn on Show Hidden Files and Foldesr in Folder Options in Windows Explorer.

  4. Delete the file named "Web Data": rm -rf Web\ Data;
  5. Start Google Chrome and the error should be gone.
NOTE: If the problem repeats itself after every reboot, then there is most likely corruption is your user profile, so you will have to delete the profile and start a new one. In order to do that, follow the above steps, and replace step 5 and 6 with the following. Make sure that you backup your bookmarks before doing this, as they are a part of your profile and will disappear after doing this:
5. Locate the folder called "Default" in the directory window that opens and rename it as "Backup default."
6. Try opening Google Chrome again. A new "Default" folder is automatically created as you start using the browser.

It says my profile will not open

Hi Carol,

I think you are facing this issue while opening a Firefox or Google chrome.

However, if you are expereincing the issue while opening Google chrome, then you do the following:
1. Open Windows Explorer
2. Changed defaults and views, to show list, and to show hidden files, and to show full directory.
3. then, I browsed to:
c:\Users\HP\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Web Data
4. deleted the Web Data folder.
Closed Windows Explorer, Opened Chrome.

That should fix the issue. If the issue persist, revert back with the complete information on the browser you are using and the complete error message.

Cannot open Google Chrome

you need to perform a full manual uninstall of chrome. sounds like you know your way around a computer, you should go ahead and give this a shot (be sure to delete the folder on the last step)
most of chrome resides in a folder under your user account directory. getting rid of the bad install and then re installing the latest version of chrome from google should set you straight.

Chrome.exe-corrupt file local app dir unreadable advise run udsk

First, COPY ALL OF YOU FILES ONTO A BACKUP OF SOME SORT. There is a distinct possibility that your hard drive has gone (or is going) bad, so back up your data ASAP.
It looks like your problem here is with Google Chrome, so try uninstalling and reinstalling it. If it still gives an error, uninstall it, then delete everything in this folder: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome (to open this folder, just copy and paste that into the Address bar of a Windows Explorer window) Then try reinstalling. If there are still problems, your hard drive probably has gone bad and will need replacing; check your warranty to see if it is still covered.

My google chrome is not loading pages and when startup it comes up as error

YES yes yes, i went to C:\Users\(your profile name here)\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application and renamed the file from chrome.exe to whatever.exe, note you wonte see the .exe but the file is the application or executable file. I did the change went to my desktop launched it and Oh yea it works baby.

Tried the -no-sandbox it didn't work, plus there is a security issue.

Hi as soon i open google chrome..it says aw snap on the screen...i have tried every option of sandbox..manually deleting files and registry and then reinstalling...nothing works , not even that process...

try this one. right-click on the Google Chrome icon and click Properties. Then go to the Target box and add --no-sandbox after the target and click OK.

For example, if it shows the following in the target box:

C:\Documents and Settings\Rodietom\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe"

it should look like the following after adding --no-sandbox to it..

C:\Documents and Settings\Rodietom\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" --no-sandbox

if the above does not work and you are using symantec endpoint, you may want to check the following: http://techie-buzz.com/tips-and-tricks/fix-for-aw-snap-error-in-google-chrome-reader-recommendation.html

let us know how it goes for you.

Chrome Adobe Error

Fresh out of Google suppot -

"Download the flash player for windows xpi file - http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/xpi/current/flashplayer-win.xpi

"Rename the file to .zip

"Explore the .zip file and you will see a couple files, flashplayer.xpt and NPSWF32.dll, which you have to copy.

"Open another explorer window and go to the plugins folder of your google chrome browser, which might be at -
C/Documents and settings//Local Settings/Application Data/Google/Chrome/Application/Plugins/

"Paste both the files in this plugins folder and then close your Chrome browser and restart it

Those instructions worked fine for me, but I had to make one small change to the advice given there - Vista uses a different folder structure, so I had to paste the two necessary files into C:\Users\{Username}\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\Plugins

The folder Plugins did not exist when I navigated my way there, so I created it and dropped the two files in, restarted the Chrome browser and ... Voila! Working fine

Other thing I’d say is that my first step was to visit the Chrome Help pages, in particular, http://www.google.com/support/chrome/bin/answer.py?answer=95697&cbid=1798iqe1e7223&src=cb&lev=answer

and installed Java 6 v 10 like they suggested, before doing the Flash business
