Clean awm5104 washer filter

The water in the machine stinks, the drain at the front reeks of off water. The clothes rarely smell clean anymore. This all screams of issues with the filters. Where and how does one access and clean these?

There can be many issues but you need to remove and clean all the filters and the drum, the drain.

Cleaning depends on use. 8 years is a bit over the top! When your water does not drain, check the outlet filter first, then the pipe from below the tub to the filter. Your washer wont spin 'cause the pump/filter is blocked.

SOURCE: Our Duet just doesn't clean very well anymore.

The drain is probably clogged and the dirty water is going back into the washer. This happened to us, and the clothes were getting grey and dirtier than when they were before being washed. Make sure the drain pipe drains well, check hoses and clean the machine.

Unplug your washing machine and then you will be able to get the door open and the clothes out. You may need to leave it off for awhile to get it to work but make sure you have a bucket ready to catch the water coming out.

I have a front loader that smells like something died in it. I have tried affresh bleach Tide washer cleaner Basic G leaving the door open cleaning the gasket washing the drum cleaning the filter and hoses...

you can open the filter drainage under near the drain hose. there may be something that comes into the washer drum and died leaving a smell. how to open the filter is rotated and pulled out only. then you try to drain the washing machine how to turn it. will allow water or sewage, which is in the drum filter out of the hole. and do not forget to clean the exhaust filter the water, there will be a lot of dirt.

Our front end loader stinks and we have to leave the door open. We have the exact same problem where I work. How do you get the smell out?

The filter on your pump is probably clogged with lint and stuff. You have to remove the bottom front panel, 3 torx screws underneath. The panel will drop and come off. Drain off the excess water from the hose you see. The white filter cover is right in front. Get yourself a bunch of towels or a good big plastic bag to collect water. Unscrew the filter cover and twist the filter out. Clean out all the stuff and put it back in carefully.

Next: You can use Affresh to clean your front loader. Deposits of soap and other such things can be stuck around the inside tub of your washer. Try this product, it works great on all front loaders. Use hot water with the Affresh pellet with no clothes and run the machine through a cycle. Also helps with any stagnant water smells. Have you cleaned out your pump lately. Put the pellet inside the machine, not in the soap dispenser.

There will normally be a few cups of water left in the hose although it should not smell very bad though as this water from the last rinse and should be fairly clean. If the drain is connected to the drain under a sink make sure the hose goes up as far as possible then down to the washer.

Smell while washing only

Like bad eggs ?

Do you have a U bend in the wastepipe that takes the water away from your machine

If not then any smells from the pipe run can come back up the outlet pipe

Once you have ran the machine it flushes away the old water and the smell goes away

MY FRONT LOAD WASHER STINKS! THERE IS A MUSTY ODOR COMING FROM INSIDE.

I have the same problem with my machine. Also a frigidaire. After speaking with many repair people apparantly this is a common issue. With mine the gasket that seals around the door has separated completely from the machine and you can literally lift is away. If you pull it back you can run your finger along the metal of the machine and lift of soft black mold. I am in the midst of trying to get my machine replaced with another brand under warranty. This has actually caused severe allergic reactions to my family and took over 6 months to find.

Stinky clothes

The big door seal is probably the problem. Put on gloves and using a solution of Laundry detregent and hot water and rags, carefully wipe clean all the folds of the seal. It will be icky. Next run a cycle with some detergent and oxyclean or bleach if you have it.

Especially during warm weather, damp clothing left in a front loader mildew slightly very quickly- you can't really see much but you can smell it! So get the clothes in to the dryer immediately. You'll want to relaunder the smelly clothing after you have cleaned the washer.

Good luck to you and Thank You using FiX YA!
