It works like a fridge or ac. When its charge gets low it can't cool. It will cycle on and off as freon goes around the circuit. Must be leaking around seals or crack in line. A good ac man could check its pressure to determine. Also, thermostat could be going bad, I would check that as well.
Hello, this is going to be a bad thermostat. This is located behind the grill in the back. It has 2 electrical wires and a metal wire that goes to the tank, you should replace it. Hope this helps! Mike
Get in there with a vacuum and clean up the condenser coils then check the compressor relay. If all those are fine bypass the cold control just long enough to see if the water cooler works. Do not leave it bypassed or damage to the reservoir could occur.
Having same issue. Water cooler about a week old, in use in a small office with about 10 people and 2 5-gal water jugs consumed weekly.
The chiller for the cold water no longer works, and they display lights on the front and on/off switch in the back no longer light up. The hot water is working, I'm wondering if there is a potential recall issue with the unit.
To resolve this problem, unplug the dispenser and let it sit for about 24 hours. I had this problem happen to me and I took the unit apart to find out the cause. I discovered that the the water cooling mechanism developed a big chunk of ice inside of it and it basically blocked the flow water. Allowing that ice to melt should resolve this problem. It did for us.
Glen, We purchaced this water dispencer about 2 years ago, everything was working normal, water heater works fine and the cooler would come on and go off normally, until you dispenced cold water and then the coller would cool down and shut of like it's supposed to. Afetr a couple of years , one day it started cooling continuously and wouldn't stop, I've just shut the cooler switch off on the back of the unit until i can figure the problem out, unit #(87330). I believe the problem is in the circuit control board, but with out further testing i can't be sure .
