The software that came with my jvc stopped working with it. PowerProducer and Power Director Xpress say they do not support the file type. And the everio program lets me watch the movies buy will not burn them.

Pinnacle version 11 treats everio files absolutely normally. Just move them to the PC and "import media from device" in the drop down menu. You can edit (sound and vision) and produce excellent DVDs.

Sony Vegas is also good at MOV files.

Incidentally, I have foud the Everio picture MUCH improved if I set the "shutter speed" to "sports"

  • Anonymous Aug 28, 2009

If you use the software that comes with the Everio to backup the Hard disk, all your clips will be stored for you in "MYWORKS". These can then be imported into a NonLinear Editor (NLE). Pinnacle 11 and Sony Vegas certainly work, and so does the Cyberlink editor bundled with the camera.

There is small program that fix mod files..
1. Fix mod files resolution..
2. Rename mod file to mpg

Download it JVC Fix MOD

Hi there,
you can change the file extension from ".mod" to ".mpg", or put it through a file conversion program. Just go to yahoo and type in ".mod file to .wmv".
Of course, if you were on a mac, none of this would be necessary as, with all things macintosh, you just plug it in and it works.
Hope this helps, DJ

It s a video player and converter for MPG2 and AVCHD camcorders.

Hope it will help everyone with JVC SONY CANON AND PANASONIC camcorders.

To convert all your videos .MOD, .TOD, .MTS, .M2TS from your JVC,
Panasonic, Canon or Sony camcorders, you can use the software iVerio.

iVerio is a video converter and an avchd converter for camcorders.

What video software goes with the jvc everio gz-mg630

The bundled software is the Everio Media Browser by Pixela. It makes it very easy to find video on your camcorder and import it to your computer. Then, it allows you to do basic editing. Finally, the software makes it simple to upload to You Tube, Export to iTunes, or Burn to DVD. You can purchase a replacement at: http://www.jvcservice.com/Store. I however recommend you just use Windows Movie Maker, which is free.

GZ-MG30U JVC camcorder software need

You do not need any software to download the data from your camera. You can view your video files through Windows media player. The camer comes with Cyberlink Power director to view and edit the pictures if you want to make your own movies, but just about any editing software will do.

JVC Everio Camcorder-cannot make movie file

I use Sony Vegas 8 Movie Studio...a great piece of software...and use the Storm codec pack to view .mod files that the JVC puts out:

scroll down to download mirror for STORM Codecs, not AVS.

Good luck.

Lost the disks that came with hybrid everio(JVC) 30gb

You can go to the cybelink website and download a trial copy of the software that came with the camcorder. The software is ; Cyberlink Power Cinema, Power Directer, and Power Producer. The camcorder's format is also recognizable by Mac. Or if you dont want ot eventually buy the new software you can manually change the file extension of you movies off the camcorder to .mpg to view back your video using windows media player. Until you get editing software, you would not be able to edit your movies. Adobe Premier Elements 4 works fine with .mov files and Final cut pro.

Everio GZ-Mg155

When you download your video files onto your pc and go to find them in the prg files you notice two kinds of files. The big ones with extension .mod are the video files. I've had success changing the file extension to .mpg and then importing it to your other editing software programs. Hope this helps.
