“when up & down scan buttons pressed, just keeps scanning w/out finding station. it does lock into a station when manually scanned. need reset & if so, how?” Don't worry. Your amp is normal. Your situation happens to any denon, onkyo and yamaha av-amp always due to extremely sensitive tunning unit. No need to reset. Tune any wanted station by another radio and jot freq. down. Enter desired freq. into the av-amp and store it.
Read operating guide , usually found in glovebox with other documents that tell you how to turn lights on and indicator location.
Or do a manual search for required station, then press and hold on say preset button 1 to lock in the station. You may hear a bleep when done successfully or 1 may flash, press 1 again to confirm...
This should lock in your radio station of choice on your desired preset button..
set to auto select when the desired station comes on press the button that you want for that station for several seconds and the station will lock onto that button the auto select will move again and when you get the next station you want press and hold the next button and so on.
OK press power on,select tuner button for radio. then select band AM or FM. Then press tuning mode button until you see [manual] in the window. then press the tuning button [arrow left or arrow right buttons] until you get to your desired station.then press program / memory set. a memory number will flash [ say memory 1]. then press program/ memory /set button again to lock in the selection [memory 1] now this is the TRICKY PART. Once the selection is memorized go back to tuning mode Press the tuning mode button until you see manual and i think you can follow the above procedure. If you program AM stations first Then press the BAND button to get FM stations and go back to step one.
when the staion that you want appears on the display press and hold the number you want to store it too ie- fm235.687 press and hold 1 till it locks it in then on to the next station then press 2 hold and so on
The model number you posted is for a center channel speaker which has no controls, and not knowing the exact model number it's difficult to be specific.
Some Kenwood KDC models allow you to select one of 3 "tuning modes", 1) AUTO1 - Automatic search for stations; 2) AUTO2 - Search Preset stations; 3) MANUAL - Normal manual tuning control. If your Kenwood is one of these models, you need to set the tuning mode to MANUAL. For Kenwood Excelon HD receivers, direct access tuning is done by using the included remote. 1) Press DIRECT button on the remote; 2) Press number buttons to enter desired channel number; 3) Press DIRECT button again to exit direct tuning.
wonder have you solved it now,,,,you can enter the code by turning the station wheel on the steering remote control. the radio station(changing) wheel is just below the +/pause/- control...after you turn the wheel to desired number(if you have the code) press pause to go to next number,,in the end keep press pause for 2-4 secs to register code..entering wrong code locks the set for some time,,,,the longer time as you get it wrong more number of time...hope this resolves the query....thanks
