Called 'Sleep Mode', it saves your battery and screen.
To turn off sleep mode on a Mac, go to System Preferences > Energy Saver. Then tick the box next to Prevent computer from sleeping automatically when the display is off and drag the Turn display off after slider to Never.

You can prevent the computer from going into sleep or hibernation mode by going to the CONTROL PANEL - POWER SETTINGS.
Once here, change the settings to High Performance.
You can also go into advanced properties and manually change all of the settings - including when the hard drives go to sleep (I set this to NEVER), when the monitor will go to sleep (again, I set to never).
you got your sleep off go to the main menue and go to sttings and there will be a sleep option it will say on or off you want to click it on
