Broken microscope light

The light source was OK for few seconds after I switched on the power supply. Something wrong with the internal part of the light source, I guess. At first I thought it was because of the power plug, but when I tried with the other microscope it was alright and can be used normally. Do I need to replace the part? If so, how?

SOURCE: need replacement part for my sons vivitar microscope set

You turn the light on by LITTERALLY turning the light on it's hinges. It swivels and when the light is in it's downward position (with the little light bulb pointing towards the ground) it is off. When you flip it over (with the little light bulb pointing towards the the veiwing platform) it should turn on.

If you look closely, you'll see the metal-to-metal contact pieces that trigger the light to come on.

Good luck!

SOURCE: TDP-S8 Power supply led not lighting up. Unit not working

There seems to be problem in your power supply. Look for any swollen capacitor --- generally 3300uf, 10V. Be careful about the polarity of the capacitor before you take it out. Check the capacitor to make sure how it's mounted ( for polarity purpose). Negative side of capacitor will be toward the outside of pc board. Substituting 2200uf, 16V capacitor for 3300uf, 10V will work ok.

SOURCE: 42 LG plasma no picture but sound. found internal

Sounds like it started "Protection Mode" because of a failed electronic part inside the TV. When this happens, the TV will keep turning itself OFF or will not turn ON at all. This keeps the other parts inside from being damaged. Most likely the TV has a power supply related problem. The common part to go bad for flat panel screens circuit board that powers the screen itself. Most manufactures call it a Backlight Inverter Board.
But, I can't say what is 100% the problem because I can't actually look at the tv over the internet. I can only make guesses with the symptom.

You have a few choices:

1. Best thing to do, if you can find and purchase a Service Manual over the internet; It will help you diagnose the source of the problem and fix it by soldering in the new part. The Service Manual will give you circuit diagrams, schematics, test points, and part# lists.Usually, cost under $20. Its the best repair guide material for fixing TVs. And most cases the new part cost less than $15 by searching on the internet with the part number.

2. Pay a TV shop to do the repairs. It maybe costly, but get an estimate of how much they will charge. That way you can decide if it worth repairing or replacing the whole TV.

I hope I shed some light on the subject for you.

Tv comes on for a few seconds then starts to blink on screen then cuts off with red light on stays on

Hi Kenny
Being a projection device... Which most TV's aren't ...
You need to break the fault down into the Projection Section or the TV Section.
Or Power Supply Section
Projector bulb blown, overheating etc.
Power supply sensing overload or fault then automatically shutting down.
TV Section may be OK
small internal LCD screen is projected by lens.
Check internals.

Pump runs water will not shut on its own

This is domestic water pump with expansion tank ?
If so the problem is probably the pressure switch that seize or the inside spring or mecanism is defective. Try cutting power source first and most of the time there is access to internal mecanism thru electric connection, try with screwdriver to simulate high pressure ( pry under pressure mecanism and release ) It should click the contact doing this, if not try to find any debris or broken spring. If everything seems ok, while power off, release pressurer from any tap in the house, disconnect hose on pressurestat, start supply pump few second and make shure hose to pressurestat is not block, use a piece of clothing on end of small hose to prevent everywhere spilling, maybe have someone else at breaker to shut back quickly...Cannot find anything change the pressure controls ( pressurestat )

Here is few question you might want to ask yourself:
Have you try the monitor on another source?
So if it work, what is the resolution the source was set at?
Can you try another video on the source that does not work and compare the resolution?

If the monitor does not work with another source then internal part is failling. inverter for neon lamp most of the time but the power light would lite up. if the power light does not light upe then it is internal power supply. Check the power cable, external power supply, the internal and external power plug (you might want to replace the cable for a test or the power supply if external)

hope this help you.

I have a dell dimension E521 and it no longer powers up. When turned on rather than booting it up the light just flashes orange. The advanced troubleshooting says # If the power light is blinking amber,...

You are correct. According to the Power LED it diagnoses this as:
The power supply is receiving power from the source but is unable to properly distribute it to the components. Reseat all power connections to the system board.
It's either the power supply or the motherboard. Power supplies run anywhere from 50 to 100 dollars. Motherboards for the Dell can run anywhere from 200 to 300 dollars plus labor. Also check your USB ports to see if any are damaged. They can short out your power supply if broken.

Philips MCW770/37 stereo will not power on any longer.

Hi ,
This is just a suggestion. Check your speaker wires at the back and at the speakers. A shorted speaker wire will cause a tripped breaker.

Elitegroup P4M800 motherboard problem get power for 1 sec thats it real puzzle!!

You ask for two problems here, but let's talk one by one.

According to your explanation it seems to be bad wall outlet connector, broken power cable and finally a broken Power supply.

You can check first two, but to you can't check Power supply.

The point the status led is off means that the 5V part of the power supply is broken. 12V part is (probably) OK because you have a fan running for short, but it is not important because all power sources of the power supply should work.

Now, the best for you is first to (try) buy a new strong power supply (you said you have more devices in your PC) and try with another power cable connected to another wall outlet.

First you should see if you get a status led ON. If so, than your PC should work.

Second question:

three beeps suggest bad memory (it depends of the BIOS). If you have more then one module, try with one only and then with oders, but only one at time.

Regards.

Problem

If the AC power source (outlet) is ok and the line cord and fuse are ok but the unit is completely dead, you may have a problem with the internal switching power supply.

Locate the switching power supply and see if there is a fuse on its circuit board.

Completely dead units are typically caused by a failure in the power supply section.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance to you.

Good luck!
