I turn on my Mitsubishi WD-73833 TV and it turns itself off

TV worked fine last night, although picture seems less brighter lately. Today, the ON button starts the blue lights (power on), I hear fan noises, and then the blue lights go off. No picture ever appears on the screen. Could it simply be that the lamp needs replacing?

Lessing of brightness on a DLP set is a sign of imminent bulb failure.

A new bulb is in order.

Go to Bulb World on Amazon. The replacement bulb is than $40 and is the easiest thing to replace. Took me about 2 minutes.

SOURCE: mitsubishi wd-52825. red lamp indicator, new lamp installed

Failed caps on the power supply will cause that. The V26 Power pwb repair kit will usually correct that issue. Its available from www.tvrepairworld.com the kit contains the capacitors and the CD with instructions.

SOURCE: Mitsubishi WD-52525 was working fine and now it will not turn on

This is just a shot - but it worked with my Sony (same problem).
Pressed remote power on button AND held Power button on TV on at the same time.

Set clicked 4 or 5 times and then came on....

Other, most have a (VERY small) reset switch on the rear - near where the power cord enters the TV... Use a flashlight and a mirror to locate it on your set....

SOURCE: Hello there, I have the

If the lamp light blinks yellow, then the first thing I would check would be the filament of the lamp. It is not completely blown into shrads, but it sounds like the filaments is fried. Please check it and let me know.

I have a wd-73833 when i turn on the tv the front blue lights come on after a minute the tv turns itself off, there is no picture

I would check your lamp 1st. Do you have a lamp light flashing on the front of your set after TV shuts down? That is a message to let you know what might be wrong.

Bright white spots on mitsubishi wd-73833 I just replaced the lamp and now these bright white spots have started to appear!

This unit uses a DLP (digital light processor) chip and if this starts to fail then you will get spots appearing on the screen. The DLP chip will need to be replaced.

Green horizontal lines on screen no picture

The green CRT's (color picutre tube or color wheel, or ballast) will need to be tested for replacement.
It is quite common with these tv's

You will need an ohmmeter and or voltmeter and test each component for currency and accuracy

Mitsubishi wd-65831 one night worked fine next day nothin..

If you hear a whining noise, the odds are it is the color wheel, the bearings are bad in it and will need to be replaced as a whole unit, kinda pricey, my suggestion, sale the bulb and all boards in it and which should fetch about 400+ and invest in a new TV, a color wheel is pricey unless you can find a deal
