take it to an appliance repair shop for a diagnosis and quote for repairs
could be a simple motor problem or could be more costly
any way the quote will show you to repair or replace with a new model
Hi Mike! To check the filter on the Floormate deluxe, remove the dirty water tank and pull up on tank lid to separate from the base. Check foam filter for debris, if filter has debris, rinse it with water. To prevent internal damage make sure you are using only the Hoover Floormate detergent. If the machine is still noisy and smells bad we recommend taking it in to a Hoover authorized service center. Follow the link to find the nearest service center to you. Hope this helps! what does the really loud noise sound like? Is it a loud, whining sound? if so, the motor may be getting ready to go out. Also check that the belt isn't stuck-though you would smell burning rubber if that were the case.
If you have little to no suction, that sound is happening because you most likely have a clog some were in the vacuum.
smell is probably your motor over working itself do to the clog.
also double check your belts on your brushes that they are moving with the motor. smell and sound could come from the brushes being jammed which would cause the belt to freeze and heat up and could burn the belt and or your motor.
if it is still running though your not in the red yetm so triple check that the machine is cleared off all clogs and jams in the belts and brushes.
yes there are replacement parts for your hoover call any athourized hoover dealer and give them your model # usualy the motors are more expensive than the hole machine
