I found this forum from searching about the prestige 7 and watching the videos ... It showed the charging animation for a few mins and then went off. ... I'd like to figure out what the problem is as I quite like the tablet and it was half .... prestige pro 7d won'tturn on. ,. visual land 8q has power but will not turn on. prestige 10D wont turn on after charging help!

Try a different charger. The tiny wires in charging cables are delicate and break easily. You may have had the tablet connected to the charger and nothing was happening and you ran the battery till it was dead.

Most probably there's a break in the charging circuit. Is the charger in working order? CHECK THE OUTPUT VOLTAGE OF THE CHARGER. Try booting with the power connected. If it starts, then the battery is dead. If still doesn't work, then need to check internal circuit.

I've had the same problem with my RCA 10 inch tablet. I have charged it, tried the hard reset, used different chargers and even different outlets, and held the power button on for 60+ seconds with NO RESULTS! My recommendation is to contact RCA, which is what I am doing, and request an immediate replacement if yours is still under the 1 year manufacturers warranty. If you look these tablets up, you will see (as I have found) that this is apparently a common problem with the tablets. Wish I had known that prior to purchasing!

Is the green charging light displaying on the side of the tablet and/or does the screen indicate that it's taking a charge?

When you hold down the power button for 30 seconds or more, does the screen indicate anything? Charging? Battery low? Charged?

If it's new (and your son doesn't have any/much personal files on the device it's probably less headache to just return it to the store and get a replacement.

have you tried turning off tablet with charger plugged in and letting it charge up. You should see a battery symbol come onto the screen with a pulsing level indicating the battery is being charged. hold in power till unit turns off then plug in charger cable into tablet and switch on charger at power point . Do not try and push power switch to power up tablet see if screen indicates charging is occurring. I have experienced this exact problem on a samsung tablet !

Try a different charger first, as it maybe faulty. If not the battery maybe faulty and I would purchase a new one.

When you plug in the tablet to a charger, does the LED come on indicating that it is charging? If not, your tablet's battery is probably dead and you may have a dead charger. Try connecting your tablet to a PC's USB port, with the PC turned on, of course.

Leave the tablet connected and the PC on overnight. That should trickle charge your tablet enough that it will power on. If that doesn't work, your tablet may have a bad battery, a bad charging port, or your charging cable is bad. Try it with a different cable as that is the cheapest solution at that point.
