Video transfer not working

Wanting to transfer video recordings from camcorder to VHS recorder. Panasonic have sent me a cable that plugs into the "To PC" terminal. The cable also has three RC plugs (Yellow, Red, White), which plugs into the VHS. We are not able to get a video or audio signal to the VHS or the TV from the camcorder. Are we using the wrong cable? Do we need an S-Video cable? Any suggestions please!

  1. connect VCR(recorder) to TV, select TV proper channel to get signal from VCR
  2. connect Mini DV to VCR, for example, you are using AV1 input on your VCR
  3. on you VCR, select channel(or input) to AV1, insert a blank tape
  4. turn your Mini DV to play mode and play, press REC on your VCR
you should get picture now.

My Honestetch 5.0 vhs to dvd wont record. As soon as i press the record button a bubble popped up saying You can start recording by playing your camcorder or VCR

You need to connect the Video and Audio outputs from your camcorder or VHS player/recorder to the Honestech converter - Yellow is video, red and white audio. You play the tape back on the camcorder or VHS player/recorder and the video on the tape will play into the Honestech converter and will be digitised and sent via the USB connection to the PC and recorded on the PC. The Honestech cannot control your camcorder or VCR directly so you need to manually set it to play the tape.

How do I connect my panasonic vhs 188 camcorder to a dvd recorder?

Hi,

On these old models of VHS camcorder, I recall they have either RCA outputs, or BNC connectors which will require a BNC adaptor (to convert to RCA).

Using a 3RCA lead, connect the camcorder to the video (and audio) inputs of your DVD recorder.

I have a Panasonic DMR-ES30V. I've only ever recorded from what I'm watching on the TV to a DVD. I now have a VHS tape that I'd like to record to DVD. I tried starting the dvd to record...

Most Combo Recorders (VHS and DVD) will prevent you from
recording a Copyrighted VHS tape program onto DVD.
Try recording a TV program onto your VHS tape, then
transfer it to your DVD and see if your new DVD recording
will work or not.

I video taped a wedding and am trying to copy from my camcorder "VHSC" to VHS RECORDER - PROBLEM IS I AM GETTING AUDIO BUT NO VIDEO when i try to replay from vhs tape on VCR

I can only believe that you did not connect everything (the yellow video cable) correctly.

Tape to tape copies are normal and typical. Please consider retrying - and just do a few minutes of test video to confirm that it is working.

If you were doing a digital translation, I could understand a problem - but VHS to VHS should be a straight copy.....
Let us know how the test works. (BTW, I had a bad quality video cable - and had to replace it with another - which worked (and everything would display on my TV but would not copy onto another tape. My expert said that a copy protection thing in the record mode of the VHS recorder was the issue - ONLY a strong signal will be copied.

I have a JVC DR MV7SU DVD/Video recorder. How do

If your camcorder allows you to connect to a tv or vcr and allows you to record from it to the camcorder via the rca video input, then you should be able to record it that.  The camcorder must have the RCA audio/video inputs on it to be successful.

Connect DVD recorder to Video player/recorder- transfer VHStodisc

hook the video output from vcr to dvd input at rear, then hook output from dvd to tv input. note; you can not record protected vcr movies you can only record tv shows from sattelite to vcr or dvd recorder. its best to record straight from sattelite to dvd recorder for picture clarity.

Recording from the Mini DV to VHS Tape

Mini dv is a digital recording and VHS is analogue so they are incompatible. Does your camera have an analogue output? That is a lead that ends with something like RCA plugs or a Scart plug. Then you can feed the signal into a VHS recorder.
