Direct Code Entry

1. Press and hold the SETUP button until the red indicator stays on, then release the SETUP button.
2. Press and release the desired Mode button (TV, VCR, etc.). The red indicator blinks, then stays lit.
3. Enter the 4 digit code from the code tables. Note: after a valid code entry, the red indicator turns off. For an invalid code, the red indicator flashes.
4. With your device on, press CHANNEL UP. If the device responds, no further programming is required. Note: If some buttons do not operate your device, try one of the other codes for your brand.

You can "manually" find your code by  1. pressing tv button on the remote 2. press and hold setup until TV button blinks twice 3. press 991, the tv button should blink once 4. slowly press and alternate the power and tv buttons until tv turns off.   5. press setup to lock in the code when tv turns off.

without knowing the brand of the tv i have to give you generic instructions on how to program the remote without knowing the codes:

1. Turn your tv on manually
2. on the remote press TV once
3. Press and hold the set button until the LED red light blinks twice, then release the set button
4. enter 9-9-1. the led will blink twice
5. aim the remote at the tv and slowly alternate between pressing POWER and TV. Stop when the TV turns off after pressing power.
6. lock in the code by pressing and releasing the set button. the led will blink twice.

If you accidentally overshoot the code required, press the Channel Down button to backtrack through the library until the device changes channel. Pressing Channel Up changes direction to forward again. Press and release the Mute button to install the code.

Try "hiding" the remote from the set so that the TV cannot "see" it. Hope this little trick helps...accordianman

Hi : if you're having problem programing the philips remote, you can you used the search option to find the right code for your Panasonic TV. In order to search by auto without a user guide please follow the step below.

1.Turn the panasonic tv on.
2. On the univercial remote control there a button mark code search or search.
Pressand hold down the code search button until the LED light come on steady.
3. Press the TV button onthe univercial remote one time.

4.Press the power button on the univercial remote severail time until the tv turn off
When tv turn off press the OK or ENTER button on the univercial remote control to save the setting.
