Have you tryed this? open "Internet Explorer" click on "tools" then click on "Internet Options" at the bottom. In the field under "Home page" type in http://www.google.com click apply at bottom then ok see if this works for you.

go into your browser's setting to change or set homepage for that browser. there may even be a "reset to default (or previous)" setting, otherwise you will need to manually enter the web page you want.
