HD19A / 19-Inch light flickers but no display

When it's turned on, the light on my monitor blinks but the screen doesn't display anything. Why might this be happening, and how can I fix it? It's two years old and it worked fine until today. I always keep it on, but today I turned it off and when I tried to turn it on again, it didn't work. PC works well with other monitor

Thanks for solution1, but I unplugged the vga chord and plugged it again. Also, the light flickers when I turn power on, even if PC is not on, which makes me think that might be a problem with either something in the monitor or, perhaps, the switching adapter

I have to add that monitor usually had a fixed green light when working and a fixed amber light when pc was shut off, after displaying a "no signal input" sign

One of 2 possibilities come to mind.

1,  The vga chord is loose on the back of the monitor.

2, Your resolution is set too high or low to be displayed.

The blinking light means that the monitor is either not getting or understanding a signal.

Hope this helps.

Samsung 931B monitor (doesn't turn on)

Check for blown capacitors on the power supply board, this is a very common problem with LCD monitors. Here is a link to a web article showing what to look for. The second link is to a source for capacitor repair kits for that series monitor.

Lcd screen is flickering on and off very fast

Disconnect the lcd from the computer. Turn on the LCD and see if it still flickers fast. If it doesn't then go ahead reconnect the lcd back to the computer. If its still flickering, then go ahead and hook it up to another laptop or desktop. If it doesn't flicker on another computer then that means there is a problems with the video card on the original computer.
If it still flickers then that means the lcd is bad and would need to be replaced.

Microtek C783 Monitor flickers when turned on

Hi there. Try to remove and reseat your video card first... maybe there's nothing wrong with it actually...

But if you check the on-screen display, like the brightness controls in your lcd monitor blinking... then you need to have it repaired or replaced.

Hope I gave you an Idea.. ^_^

I CANT GET MY MONITOR TO TURN ON

It could be the Monitor, the VGA adapter, or the PC itself. If you power on the monitor without anything connected to it, do you ever see anything on the display?

If not, it is probably the Monitor. If yes, it is likely the vga adapter and/or PC.

Vusys hd19a monitor is always on standby

Cut and paste from another site:

I was called to repair similar incident last week. A Compaq box (don't remember the model) with a 'smart' usb keyboard. By this I mean that the keyboard had a row of what I'll call hot buttons. The client had pushed a button with a moon on it causing the monitor to go into sleep mode. I suspect that whatever key you pushed had the same effect.
After plugging a known good monitor into the faulty box I verified that the box was OK. This left me to think the monitor itself had a problem. Plugged the suspect monitor into a known good machine.. and it worked fine!!!
Set machine and monitor to original configuration and still had no video. Decided that the monitor was too smart for its own good and maybe there was something in the monitors menu. Pushed and held the 'menu' button on the monitor for a few seconds and menu comes forward. Green power led also comes on (surprising me) so I powered up the computer and lo and behold the problem is fixed!

Monitor problem

I have had similar problems. It would appear that the power supply is at fault, not the monitor.
