I would say the motor for a start. Maybe blew a fuse too, if there is one it'll be near where the wires from the plug come in.

Appliances at different voltages are not interchangeable without a very large step up transformer (easily a $300-500 transformer)

At this point, I would say the motor is the first thing to replace, after you've checked any fuses.

If you want to test the motor first, then you need a resistance meter
on low ohms. Test across the two wires feeding the motor, making sure
there's nothing else in parallel with the motor (otherwise, disconnect
the wires and test the motor). If your resistance shows either
continuity (0 ohms or low ohms) or a high resistance (1000 ohms or
more) than your motor is done and either needs thrown away or rewound.

Thata agood question maybe the motor and maybe a lot more like the water valve. the agitate and spin selonids and the timer. Cant say cause some of them may noy be out.

  • Anonymous May 11, 2009

You will have to remove wires from each of the parts and ohm them out for open circuts on the user side. A part like the timer will also ahve switches that close and open. With the extra voltage these could weld closed or burn out. And there are several of them that open and close depending on the sequence of the timer and where the timer is set for. If you plug it up and turn it on the timer will advance if its ok but you probably need to disconnect the motor first. MArk all the wires and when removing it chck the switch see if its burnt up then the motor windings see if they are as well.

Hate to say it but this will be rather labor intensive to check every part. Your better bet might be to lok for a good used washer semilar to the one you have or just wipe it off and get a new washer.

Rainbow e2 type 12 120v , accidentally plugged into 220v, would barely power up, possibly controller board defective?

probably need both as the extra 100 volts would burn the board and the motor
it is never advisable to buy electric equipment from another country because of the voltage differences but even then the plugs are made different so that the cord will not plug directly into the power outlet.

Plugged 120v home theater into 220v outlet

No. I wouldn't suggest trying that. It would be hazardous to your health and I seriously doubt you would be able to troubleshoot it. My question is, the power cords are nothing alike between 220 and 120 volts. How did you even plug it in? I accidentally plug my Wii that I got from US from 120v to 220v. I got the converter but I mistakenly plug it to the wrong voltage:(. I heard the poop sound. Did I burn the power adapter or the wii it...

You have most likely cooked the Wii itself, To check connect the correct power adapter to the correct system and in the correct power source ( 120v or 220v ) if it works all good if not you know you cooked it. If you are unable to test in this manner have it checked by a qualified technician.

I accidentally plugged in my pulmoneb in a 220v outlet

plugging a 110v device into a 220v outlet is not likely, as the plugs are a different configuration. In the event that you somehow managed to do that, your device is probably fried, as that would be to much voltage. Hate to say it; but you are probably gonna need a new one

Check the back of your sub to check your voltage range. You will see something like this: 110V-120V or 110V-220V. If you see the later, you are ready to go. If you see 110-120V only, you will need a power converter to power your speakers as well as any other 110-120V equipment. But no matter what, if it is 110-120V DO NOT PLUG DIRECT TO 220V!! It will blow your speakers. (I lived in Germany for 11 years.)

Kenmore dryer plug does not fit

Probably a 220V machine and you have a 110 outlet. Or Vice-Versa.

probablly damaged beyond cost of new one

a step down transformer would have been a better choice than a voltage converter ( not trying to be a wise guy here)..
