Find where the cables of the car connect to the battery, connect the red clamp of the charger to the red, battery post with the + near it. The black lead to the other post, with the - near it. If you want to slow charge, set charger to lowest amp charge for 12 volt. Hope this helps.

Very poor battery life, have to keep it plugged into mains almost all the time. This is after less than 3 years old, probably nearer 2.

Hello there,

Yes my dear friend, the battery is bad already that is why it seems like you have to get it plugged into the mains all the time when you are using the laptop.

The battery tends to last for over three years, but there are some things that gets to drain the life cycle of the battery.

Things like, plugging the laptop when ever it is in use. Once the battery is full, one needs to get it unplug it from the mains and use the battery till it is low before connecting the charger back on it. That way, the battery will last a while before the cells die off. As constant charge gets to weaken the battery cells and therefore makes the battery weak and unable to hold a charge.

The battery can also get bad if the voltage used to charge it is very high. High voltage tends to kill the battery cells also.

Some times, the battery could last for over three years and at times less that. The cells in the battery could get weak at any time. So I will advice you get another battery and this time, take caution on how you get to charge the battery.

Hope this was helpful to you.

My xt125r battery wont hold a charge for more than a couple of days.do you think its the rectifier?please help

Remove the battery from the bike ( or at least remove the positive cable ). Charge the battery but make sure water covers the top of the plates in each cell. When charged, disconnect the charger and let the battery sit for two or three days with the red positive wire still disconnected. Now re-connect the red wire and see if the battery is discharged when 2 or 3 days have passed. If so, get a new battery. The batteries only last 1.5 to 2 years. How old is your battery? If the battery DOES have full power after the 2 or 3 days mentioned, start the bike and check the voltage across the battery terminals while running the engine at about 2000 rpm. The voltage should read around 14 volts. If not, there is a problem with the stator, regulator or rectifier. If your voltmeter does show 14 volts or so, and the battery still drains in 2 or 3 days, You will have to find what is draining it. Abraded wire grounding on the frame? Bad switch? Please rate my answer. Thanks.

The 12 volt drill is about three years old. the drill will stop when under a heavier load with either battery. Is the problem with the batteries or the drill? [email protected]

this sounds like a battery issue. but it could be a charging problem too. check to make sure the charger is putting out the correct voltage to charge the battery,, if it is - then I would just buy a new battery and the drill will for fine.

Hi,, i bought sony sr42 three years back... until last week it was working fine.. suddenly i am not able to switch on the cam neither i am able to charge it.. what could be the problem...how can i resolve...

Check the power adapter that you connect to the wall outlet, with a volt meter at the tip that attaches to the camera, to see if it's producing DC voltage. Verify the value of the voltage by reading the label attached to the adapter - it's usually valued around the voltage of the battery or higher. If you find that the adapter is good, then you have a more complex problem inside the camera - check to see if an indicator lights up when you plug the adapter to the camera. If it doesn't, then the power circuit is bad - not allowing a battery charge. Suggest having it repaired at a shop. Get an estimate first - sometimes the cost of repair will exceed the value of a newer camera. You've had it for three years - looks like you got your moneys worth!

1997 Cadillac Catera: When the AC is on and the cooling fan comes on the charging guage drops to almost the red. voltage at battery drops from 14.6 to 13.2 and shows undercharge on a battery testing meter....

A charge rate of 13.2 is fine...Likely your battery is getting older and is not charging as well as it used to. You should periodically re-charge the battery using an external charger, as the alternators actual function is to maintain the batteries state of charge, not to re-charge it. Opening the doors, playing the radio with the engine off etc, can and will drain your battery. The alternator will only put a surface charge there and will not actually replace this lost power. I'd begin to worry if charge rate dropped below 12.9.but even then you likely would not have any real problems.

Iteddy blank screen when attempting to charge

I had exactly this problem, i found you can fix this problem by being careful you can:-
1 remove the belt clip and disconnect the battery very gently.
2 unscrew the back of the unit and remove it.
3 unscrew the circuit board, DO NOT DISCONNECT THE RED AND BLACK SPEAKER WIRE
4 where you can see the jack insert there are three pins, push these pins in gently.
5 reconnect the battery and plug in the jack, the screen should come on. If it does'nt try pushing down the pins once more gently of course, to ensure good connection to the jack.
This worked for me and only took ten minutes, good luck.
