Bearing

If the washer is making a loud noise the bearing might be worn out. As bearings wear out from friction they gradually get worse and worse until they fail. In the meantime they get louder. If the noise primarily happens during the spin cycle the bearing is likely the problem.

If the washer is making a loud noise the motor coupling might have failed. The motor coupling connects the motor to the washer transmission. It is designed to fail if the washer is overloaded in order to protect both the motor and transmission.

Clutch

If the washer is making a loud noise in the spin cycle, the clutch assembly might be worn out. The clutch assembly makes the connection between the transmission and the inner tub. It is designed to allow the tub to get up to the proper spin speed gradually. As the clutch wears out it may become loud during spin or just after the spin cycle finishes. The clutch is not repairable, if it is loud or not working properly it will need to be replaced.

Drive Belt

Drain Pump

Drive Motor

Water Inlet Valve

If the washer is noisy or loud, particularly when the washer is filling, the water inlet valve is at fault and will need to be replaced.

If it makes noise but moves, it's your motor - it it doesn't move at all, it's the belt. Noise and won't move, get a new washer. Check the BELT first - that usually is the problem.

Check the electrovalve for the supply of the water and the belt that runs the cylinder of the washer with the electric motor.

need make & model # to correctly solve problem, it could be timer shorted or the drive motor has gone bad.

this is probably a bad motor coupling, you have to take the cabinet off, then the drain pump, then the motor, the coupling is located between the motor and the trans

sounds as if you have a bad mootor coupling, part number 285753, easy enough part to change, easier to search on the you tube site for whirlpool motor coupling repair, fo rthe video, then try to explain procedure, but definalty easy enough repair for home owner

The spin cycle activates the fast mode on the motor, squealing normal occurs due to belt slippage. I would check your belts (look for cracks. Check the belt tension as well, most washers have an adjustment, normally on the motor that allows you to increase the tension of the belt.
