Treadmill that is approx 7 years old has had little use, all functions work fine i have checked the brushes there is plenty life left in them! with no damage/scorching whatsoever no sparks or unusual noises either when the treadmill is set to max speed To get the treadmill to run i need to set it to 3 kmh and run on the belt in in order to get the motor to run, anything below 3 kmh the treadmill locks out to e1 error i checked the board with no obvious signs of any failure of a resistor/capacitor/wire any solutions please

Unplug your unit, then remove motor shroud have a good light the sensor is either mounted on the frame by the front roller/pulley unit or it is mount on the motor sometimes by the flywheel sometimes on the opposite end. Next step is to locate the motor control board and plug you uit in. Your board should ligt up with red ,green, or amber L E Ds now manually move the running belt and you should see one of those lights flicker or not if it does then the sensor is working , then we other issues, if not either we have a defective or misalign sensor. An if your unit needs lubrication use a synthetic silcone product.

Unplug your unit, then remove motor shroud . Next step is to locate the motor control board and plug you unit in. Your board should light up with red ,green, or amber L E Ds now manually move the running belt and you should see one of those lights flickers that should tell us the speed sensor is working, if not it needs to be replaced , their maybe other issues, Unplug unit then find the red and black wire that connects the motor to board disconnect them used a simple DC power source like a 9v battery connect them to the motor leads and if the motor armature rotates then all problems point to the motor controll board.

Lets eliminate the motor first, unplug unit remove motor shroud fin the 2 leads from motor to lower board. Connect a 18v DC battery to the leads this start the motor to move at approx. 1 mph if it does motor is good,if not you may worn motor brushes worst case open connection in the motor.
Now if the motor is good then reconnection the leads and plug in unit the lower board should have some LEDs lit up. Now find the LED that says PWM start unit if that light should start to flicker then the upper board and wire harness are work properly. Turn off the treadmill then turn it on and with a multi meter insert the leads into the connectors that go to the motor, then put the meter on 200v DC then start the treadmill you should get a reading 5 to 10v DC if you get 0v DC then the board will need replacing

3) test the drive belt motor, and replace it
4) Test the input voltage motor, if there are the motor need repair, see my personal TIPS for help
5) Test the output voltage board, for input voltage motor, if there are NOT THE board is faulty. see the block d.
