Hi, I charge my samsung tablet, may or may not use it. the battery icon does not show correctly. some times it says that "charge the battery" but i leave it aside and after for example one hour i check the tablet and the battery shows full. this may happen a lot of time. when the battery icon is ok, I have tried and used it for 2 to 3 hours or more. I did the factory reset and the problem still exists. when I cheked the battery usage at the setting, I noticed that even if i dont use the tablet it show 30 to 40 percentage of screen usage, and when i refresh it is still the same. what i understood is that tablet cannot recognize the battery usage and that is why the tablet sometimes show full charged and sometimes discharged icon. i'd be very pleased if anyone can help me. TNX

You are likely running an old version of the firmware / ROM. See if Samsung has a new version, or if you are comfortable with rooting visit XDA Developers forums to learn how to get a newer version with more up to date power management and battery conditioning updates.

You should return the device. It sounds like a problem with the hardware or the software. A good many rooted versions of android exp. these same problems also.

SOURCE: my galaxy tab :- just bopught

Hello Sir !! I am afraid to tell that your battery might be got damaged by over charging.Electronic devices must be unplugged when the icon comes "Battery is Full" or like wise.Over charging damages the efficiency and produces extra heat that reduces the strength of charged battery.I suggest you to unplug the tab as soon as it got charged. It might increase your battery timings. If this information was helpful please rate or token of appreciation will be esteemed.

SOURCE: i am trying to upgrade

Hi,

Good day. I''m afraid you might have accidentally got the Operating System of your Samsung Tab corrupted. Im referring to your firmware. Usually if the firmware upgrade failed you need to retry it until it be successful. If you restart it or discontinue the process it will cause your Samsung Tab to be corrupted resulting into failure of the boot up process. You might need to contact samsung tech support for this or bring your equipment to the nearest center. They might need to check the software install and usually their software specialist will fix it for you. Sorry for what happen with your tab but i know the samsung repair center can fix it for you. Hope this information will be helpful to you. Have a great day.

SOURCE: My galaxy tablet was fine

You can damage the battery but it is very rare to actually do that. What you need to do is plug it in to the wall charger and leave it alone over night. At that point it should be just fine. it will actually start to show some signs of life after a few hours but don't be tempted to do anything wih it. it will first show a charge light or something after maybe 40 minutes if it is a faster charger.
If it shows no life the next day then you can try charging again but at this point you may hae a problem that requires either a battery replacement or warrenty. The battery has a microcontroller on it and when the battey gets real low they do not behave that well and typically you get the stone dead brick behaviour. And most people do not let it charge long enough to get it working. It is possible that there are other problems but those are usually moore serious and require replacement of the unit. The battery can be replaced but requires the etire case to be disassembled.
So charge it then check your warrenty and it may need serious repairs or to be replaced. If it is out of warrenty then you need to be careful on the cost verses replaceemn

I just bought my tablet and it will not let me do anything. I reset it. Nothing. I downloaded games and I cant find them to play. What is wrong with it as its brand new.

HI Brittney

What tablet did you purchase? You have 2 questions here, so I will answer the 2nd one first.

You downloaded games and can't find them? They are usually loacted here... click Settings/Apps/Downloaded.

The first question, depends on what tablet it is.. Samsung ? Apple?

Have you tried plugging in the charger and wait a few minutes for the tablet to show the battery is charging? (on the bottom right there is a battery icon) It should show a small lightning bolt as its charging. If not... take it back to the place you bought it as it's NEW and they can replace it if it's faulty.

The Tablet should have a Icon, showing you Battery Life , (ie) how much you have left in battery . You can't over charge battery , as computer has safty cut off,

There is an x on my battery icon..What does this mean?

The x suggests that your cable is not charging the tablet. Double-check the cable or use a different charging cable.

Sm-T210R tablet will not turn on or charge

Plug in your tablet, hold the power button while also hold downing the home button (white, black or silver button on front of tablet beside the return key) until the battery icon shows on the tablet. If this doesn't work and you are still under warranty send it back to Samsung. If no longer under warranty you will need to remove the entire back of the Tab and disconnect the battery from the motherboard. I do not give advice on doing this and you will have to look elsewhere for that procedure. I hope the simple fix works.

Will not charge

I have this problem all the time! It usually shows a lightning bolt over the battery icon with a X over it? My brother had the same problem, and when he got a new charger it didn't happen to him anymore. Make sure the charger is hooked up tightly, the charger and the plugin into the tablet is clear of dust. Also make sure you don't bend the charger, that short circuits it, causing it to not charge.
Hope I helped! :)
If these solutions don't help, take it to a Samsung store
