LG 32" TV remote function fails to work intermittently. Works by using buttons on side. LG's remote for sound and DirecTV's remote for turning on station tuning. Batteries new in both remotes.

Try looking for the remote sensor. It should look a little like a camera lens or little red tinted window. If you cannot find it just give the entire front of the TV a good cleaning. Finger prints and dust build up can interfere with the signals. Do the same for your direct TV box.

I bought a Samsung 65 in flatscreen and the power button on the bottom is gone just wires hanging out will that stop the TV from coming on with the remote.

The missing power button you have on the bottom of your TV is just a manual On and Off switch in case your remote does not work, it has nothing to do with the remote signals at all. Most TV's have a tiny little window or sensor in the front panel which recieves the IR signal from your remote, most IR recievers on TV's have a dark red little window as the sensor.

Westinghouse tv turns off with rmote but cannot be turned on unless button on tv itself is used

How old are the batteries in the remotes? The on/off signal from the remote is the same. There is some lattitude in the IR reciever module for what it accepts. Low battereis may be shifting the signal's frequency or light intensity enough for it to not be recognized.

If sunlight is failing on the sensor or the remote's IR emitter, that can cause interference. Other IR devices can also interfere with the IR signal such as a "Remote Extender" being used for something else.

It may sound odd, but if your remote was working one day and not the next- was the room rearranged? If so, look around for possible sources of interference blocking the beam from the remote, or shining or reflecting light onto the IR reciever module in the set.

3 yr old KDL-40V3000. Remote suddenly stopped working. Changed batteries twice - didn't make any differnence. Then noticed no LEDs lit on TV front pane! But TV is powered on. Also TV can be operated...

U have a Digital Camera turn it on,take ur tv remote pushes all the remote buttons on the front of the Digital Camera. One by one buttons. If all buttons of the tv remote work will register on the Camera viewing screen, because the Digital Camera able to read infer red signal output. Will figure out wright away the tv remote work or not easily.Tv remote sensor/board have no LED power light lite up might just be a lose connection or just a dead LED lamp only, because all the buttons on the remote sensor/board to the tv panel work wright?Try website Remotes.com to buy tv original remote.

The television CT-27G5 is not recognizing the IR from the remote. I have tested the remote and it is outputing a signal. Is there a reset procedure for the television and remote to put them back in sync?

No reset for that. Most likely the remote sensor inside the tv has gone bad. It is at the front of the main PCB beside the front panel buttons. check www.encompassparts.com for availability. Thanks for using fixya.

We have 2 Sylvania TV's. The remotes work on one TV but the other TV no longer recognizes the remotes. It gradually seemed to lose reception of the signal from the remote. Any ideas?

The tv has a infared remote eye located at the front panel. It is possible that the remote eye sensor has gone bad. You could try cleaning the remote eye lens. There might be debris that got inside the remote eye housing and is blocking the sensor. You could also try installing fresh batteries in the remote.

Sylvania tv has stopped recognizing commands from remote.

Use some windex on the pickup on the front of the tv. It's a little dark spot, either round or square that picks up the signal from the remote.

TV doesn't recognize any remote

The proble is the IR sensor 932220681667 or the small signal board. I would replace the IR sensor first. Also check the firmware and make sure it is BX23U-1.5.0.0_03531 and if it is not go to www.usasupport.com and down load the firware on a USB stick. If the set still has the problem when both are done replace the small signal board.

Remote sensor in the TV

First Inspect the remote batteries. also make sure TV is not on a LOCK ON option... now, the sensor is a small smoothly part near the TV front buttons, you can clean it carefully FYI, exposing unit remote sensor to direct fluorescent or outdoor light may cause signal interference.
