Received an error code dl f on my Kenmore Elite 45986. Replaced the locking mechanism and I am still receving the same error and results. It just clicks and gives this error code. Thanks "dl F" error code displays on the Kenmore elite quietpak4 HE 3t" press start, clicks and won't start. Ran find earlier today. Have opened and shut door, removed/reloaded clothes, press pause/cancel, etc.

door lock error...door lock mechanism broken,,,replace door switch,,,if your lock out remove toe panel and reach up and pull tab,,always unplug first...good luck

A Door Lock Error occurs if the door cannot be locked. It will try to lock
it six times before displaying the error code.
Possible causes/procedure:
¦ Door lock mechanism is broken or removed from door.
¦ Door switch/lock unit failure.
1. Unplug washer or disconnect power.
2. Check door switch/lock unit.
3. Check the wire harness connections to the door
switch/lock unit and Central Control Unit (CCU).

Plug off the mains, remove bottom panel. Reach upwards to lock area to find a chord, pull downwards gently, door opens. Check the lock for loose wire, check small push button in lock area to make sure it is not broken, check latch on door.

DL error code means the door is locked. The door lock mechanism may need to be replaced. I would not recommend attempting this on your own I suggest you call a service tech.

On this washer, the dl code indicates a failed lid lock mechanism. Pressing pause/cancel should reset the controls.

You may have to unplug the unit for 20-30 minutes, then restore the power.

If that doesn't work, the only other solution would be to replace the door lock assembly.
