Well sorry, I should have bought an Amana but I bought a GE (pre 1995) I have replaced the lower tranny seal (it was leaking oil) and drained the tranny and now need to refil the tranny, part no WH38X53, but I can't find the refill volume. It was about 1/2 full when I replaced the seal and drained it, and quite a bit had leaked out. I want to put in the correct volume and not overfill. Please help a future Amana customer!

it sounds like you have a worn out seal under your washer. pull the washer out a bit and tilt it backwards. or put something under the feet so you can look under it. turn the machine on look while it is running and see if you can tell where the leak is... there are many hoses under the machine that can give out over time and start to leak. also there is a seal in the bottom of the washer that will wear out and leak over time due to ear and tear.
also if you do not see any water coming from the bottom of the machine pull it out and see if your hoses on the back of the machine are leaking where it hooks up to your water. there are seals inside the hoses that connect from your house to the washer. if those are weak the machine will leak from there... if that is the case than you just need to replace the hoses. they now have steel wrapped hoses that are very good.

Hello horshomom
Welcome
You said, You just found out my machine is leaking underneath somewhere and you haven't taken it apart yet. Any suggestions or ideas?
How old is the machine?
How much water leaks and when?
It usually is a leak in or around the drain hose.
I've seen a clamp vibrate loose near the pump.
You should be able to find it!
Let me know. Huuum

take the front panel off. some of them have 2 screws at the bottom left and right side. Some of them you need to take a putty kinife and run across the lid and the front panel and find the clips there are two. push in and lift the lid. then remove I believe it's a 5/16 bolt to remove the front panel. You will then be able to see where the leak is comeing from. It could be just as simple as a hose or pump. But if it is leaking where the transmission meets the tub then that will be major surgury for someone who has never done that before. Does it sound really loud while it is spinning like a train is in your house? please let me know what you find and if you need any other help
