Door wouldnt unlock, I used the manual unlock, while fiddling with the latch, i inadvertantly pushed the latch forward and cant put it back

That doesnt solve th original iue of the door not unlocking at the end of the cycle

    Suspecting that the filter may be blocked preventing the water from draining completely I cleared the filter, checking deep inside to see if there were anything and replaced the cap. The was no visible water in the washer tub

    Just replaced the latch assembly.. works great! Unfortunately the washer is still having the same issue. When a cycle is set, start is pressed, the door latch engages the machine then does nothing, just sits there. If the pause/cancel button is pressed, it will not cancel the action, you have to unplug the machine to shut it off them use the manual latch release in the door. There are no codes give, it does nothing except engage the door latch.

    Add a CommentCorrection, when you cancel the action, the add a garment light flashes and the door lock light stays lit.

LO means bad door lock switch or conrtol board. to get it open unlock manually by pulling plastic cable located in dispenser where soap is put in.

ahh..time for "Q" from 007, eh? this interlock feature is a relay controlled issue. Seems that your washer is telling you that it's closed. most likely a relay replacement in control panel area.

on your model all wax motor door latch's have to be replaced,go to repair clinic .com and you can order the part or go to ebay,and put in maytag neptune mah5500bww wax motor and it will come up and the guy selling the motors has pictures on how to install,let me know-mike

OK so the MAH3 Front load is what I assume you're talking about. I found this question looking around when I had the same problem.
So not able to find a soluton I just went to work with my screwdriver. To get the door open you do as follows:
1. Unplug the washer and wait for 5-10 minutes. Safety first.
2. At the back of the machine on the top left and right sides there are 2 screws (mine where black I dont know that they all will be) that hold the top plate in place. Remove them.
3. Once the screws are removed put your palms on the top of the washer and push the lid towards the back of the washer. The lid should slide back a bit then you should be able to lift it off. Put it aside for now.
4. You should now be able to see everything inside the washer. Look straight down from the top where the door is. On the right hand side of the door (this might be different if you have it setup to swing the other way) you will see wires leading to the electronic release for the door. The manual release you're looking for sits at the very BOTTOM of the electronic assembly. Snake your hand down past the wires and and the bottom of the black box thing there is a single "stick with a ball at the end" pull that DOWN while you pull the washer door open (maybe have a friend / wife help). You will not be able to see what you're doing at all but it seemed pretty easy once I figured it out.
My problem apparently (and I couldn't tell this with all the clothes inside) seems to be that the water didn't drain all the way? This appears to be while it wasn't releasing the door.

1) unlock the door
2) put a screw driver in the middle of were the striker goes and pull on the interior handle as you pull the screw driver out acting like its releasing from the striker. should work .

The doorlock has the ability not to unlock all the way after being locked. Take the door panel loose and you can access the locking mechanism. Push the mechanism all the way forward. This should solve the problem

You may have inadvertently locked the latch when putting the plastic piece back on look at the latch mechanism and where the latch locks on the bar put a screw driver in the latch mechanism and then operate the lat to open it should open up then try shutting the trunk lid do it with the plastic piece off first to be sure thats the problem because if you have the plastic piece on you may make it nearly impossible to open it up. Then if it works put the plastic piece back on then make sure the latch is open and then close it does it work? if yes you did it if not write back to me for more help. Thanks for using fix-ya.

Can't get door open
wiring connections or lock latch frozen --to manually bypass latch or to unlock rear hatch -- in the bottom of door panel is a round access hole remove cover just clipped into place using a flashlight and a screw driver about 3 inches in on bottom is the lock latch and window lock latch connections if u pull back on the inner latch u will unlock the hatch which will allow u to open it[ when opened check the wiring connections for corrosion or damage if good ] now u can remove the whole hatch panel and check the latches and actuator the actuator and latches,and rod clips sometimes need to be lubed or sometimes the clips break or disconnect clips can be purchased at any auto store panel is clipped into place carefully pry from a corner and using a screw driver or panel tool pry straight back till panel clip pops replacement of panel put clips in place and push in panel

TAKE A SCREWDRIVER OR SOMETHING TO PUT IN THE GAP IN THE LATCH WHERE THE STIKER IN THE DOOR JAM IS WHEN IT IS CLOSED NORMALLY,& WHILE YOU HAVE THE SCREWDRIVER OR SOMETHING SIMILAR IN THE LATCH,PULL TOWARDS THE CAR WHILE YOU PULL THE HANDLE LIKE TO OPEN THE DOOR AS IF IT WAS CLOSED NORMAL,& IT SHOULD OPEN THE LATCH.

See page 18 for diagrams on your lock which is activated by an electric solenoid.

Here is the solution to get the lock to open:

Pull the unit out - on the upper right side top of the back (when facing the oven door), there is a small plastic wheel attached to a bracket with a 0.125" OD lever attached. When the wheel rotates via the electronic solenoid, the lever goes front to back. This is connected to the door latch in such a way that when you move the latch lever toward you (the front of the oven), the latch moves to the left, unlocking the door! Either spin the wheel by hand to move the lever forward, or remove one screw to loosen the housing, then remove the lever from the wheel and push forward toward the door.

1972 corvette stingray, driver side door does not open fron either inside or outside.
Sounds like the door latch mechanism is worn out.

The door latch mechanism for your door is operated by rods, from the inside door handle, and the outside door handle.
It is highly unlikely, (Though not impossible), that all those two rods have fallen off. (Spring clips hold the rods in place. Opening Rod Control Clip. In the link below they are shown as Item E)

With the window all the way down, carefully use a long flat tip screwdriver, to push down on the lever for the door latch mechanism, to open the door. Make sure the lever for the door lock, in the door latch mechanism, is in the fully unlock position.

You can see that when you pull out on the inner door handle, it pulls a rod forward. This rod is attached to a Bellcrank. The Bellcrank in turn pulls down on another rod, which pulls down on a small lever in the door latch mechanism, to release the door latch.

When you push down on the outside door handle, it pushes a small rod that is attached to that same lever as the inner door handle. Looking down through the window opening in the door, it is that lever that you're trying to push down, to open the door.

Viewing down through the window opening, try to operate the outside door latch a little. Watch to see what lever it tries to move. That's the lever you have to move Down, with the flat tip screwdriver.

With the door open, it is a matter to check out,

1.The Inside Door Opening Control, (The inside door handle is attached to it), to see if the locking part of it is functioning correctly. Make sure that it goes to the full Unlocked position.

2.The Door Latch Mechanism. Make sure it is functioning correctly. It, along with the various door hardware parts inside the door, needs to be lubricated at specific intervals. The more it's used, the higher the interval rate goes up. (I find that owners seem to Skip this task a lot! I use Lubriplate White Lithium spray)

To replace the door latch mechanism, I suggest you buy a manual for your car, so you can view all of the door hardware to remove, to remove the door panel. Then view how the spring clips come off of the rods, and the three screws come out of the door latch mechanism.

Doors won't close
Manually UNLOCK the door button or slide. HOLDING the OUTSIDE DOOR HANDLE in the OPEN position, with your other hands finger, LIFT OPEN the latch, and close your door. Hope this helps.

Door gasket leaks at the bottom when spray nozzle goes on
happy new years,,i believe you mean when the recirulating pump comes on about 4 to 8 mintues into wash.....open door and fell if any lint stuck up there if so use a needle nose pliers to pull out..check the bellows or gasket around door and make sure your not ripped ,,or missing a peace...now this is cheaper than buying new gasket...unplug unit ..than remove door switch and put 1 washer on the back of each screw ,,but put washer on inside of unit between panel and door latch ...this will push latch back and make door come forward so to be tighter...im here,,onthejob
