Dryer getting hot but not drying

I have checked to make sure that there are not clogs in the wall and in the hose vent-the HOA people are going to come climb on my roof to make sure that the top vent isn't clogged or stuck shut. I unhooked the vent hose from teh wall and put a damp sock in for 30 min on high-it didn't dry! Any ideas?

YOUR DRYER will start and run with only 110v. applied to it...........................How ever you won't get heat without 220v..........after you run dryer a few minutes you should feel HEAT inside.......my guess is you have no heat but the dryer runs,,,,,,,? If this is so, you probally are not getting 220 volts. you either have a blown FUSE or a bad circiut BRAKER in your main panel... remove cover (the small one) on back of dryer where the plug cord goes in....get someone with a voltmeter to check for 220v. going in to your dryer,,,,,,,,,,BLACK(wire) toWHITE(wire)=110v...........RED(wire) toWHITE(wire)=110v.........BLACK(wire) to RED(wire)=220v.............Let me know how you make out....P.S. don't go on ROOF..!!!!

Grundig Tumble dryer model GTN 38240 GCW It is taking ages to dry clothes and does not get as hot as it used to.

If your Grundig tumble dryer is taking a long time to dry clothes and not getting as hot as it used to, there are a few things you can check:
  1. Clean the lint filter: A clogged lint filter can prevent proper airflow and cause the dryer to take longer to dry clothes. Make sure to clean the filter before every load.
  2. Check the vent hose: Make sure the vent hose is not kinked or clogged. A blocked vent hose can also cause the dryer to take longer to dry clothes.
  3. Check the heating element: A faulty heating element can cause the dryer to not get as hot as it should. You can test the element with a multimeter to see if it is working properly.
  4. Check the thermostat: A faulty thermostat can also prevent the dryer from getting hot enough. You can test the thermostat with a multimeter to see if it is working properly.
If you have checked all of the above and the issue persists, it may be best to contact a professional appliance repair technician for further diagnosis and repair.

Dryer not heating properly

More often When you experience a problem like this with your dryer it is becouse of a clogged dryer vent hose or the vent in the wall. Disconet your dryer vent hose from the dryer to see if it will dry properly. Then you will know if the dryer or the vent.

I have a problem with dryer not putting enough heat out to dry my clothes. The model #ler4634jq0.The Serial# ml3372706

this may be the result of a clogged vent hose ,Go outside and check the outside dryer vent they sometimes clog up with lint and as a result send false info to the sensor inside the dryer, make sure you clear any excess lint from here, and then do same at the back of dryer where flex hose comes from rear of dryer up into wall then turn on dryer and feel at rear outside vent and see if you can feel the hot air moving more rapidly if so this should resolve your problem

I checked the connection of the dryer and nothing is clogged....the clothes take 3 hours to dry a small load...the dryer feels hot...in addition it appears there isn't that much lint on the lint screen...

check your dryer duct hose and vent.....it might be clogged,.....in some cases the duct fills with water and causes dry time to take longer.....on other cases the vent might be clogged and the heat sensor detects that it is hot enough and shuts down the heater element.................
make sure all vents are unclogged.............

dryer duct hose is in the back of the dryer and is connected usually with a duct clamp or tie strap.........disconnect and if i were you replace with a new one.... do not rinse out and put back....it will cause a build up of lint around the inside of duct hose.....the water acts like a glue trying to collect all the lint it could...and eventually it will clog the hose..............just replace with a new one......check the vent were the hot air discharges out of usually outside or rooftop........most vents are covered with a screen or a plastic/sheetmetal flap.....make sure the flap can move.also make sure that it is uclogged and has good airflow...........................

good luck if anything just message
a feed back would be good if this helps...

The dryer does get hot but takes a very long time to dry a normal load of clothes. What I noticed is that the top right hand corner of the dryer gets scalding hot during the cycle. It worked fine before I...

It sound like you have a venting problem. The air from the dryer is probably restricted by either a clogged exhaust hose or duct work in house or a stuck vent flap where air blows to the outside. If your vent goes straight up to the roof, something may be blocking the exit or the whole line may be clogged. Also check for a kinked flex hose that attaches to the dryer. If blockage is in wall of house, there are vent cleaning companies that can clean out the line.

DRYER TAKES LONGER TO DRY

you could have restricted airflow from the lint screen not being cleaned, a bad blower wheel, or a bad thermostat. take the vent hose off the back and check to see if the air flows out the dryer with good force, if so your vent is probably clogged or not open in the wall. the vent hose may also be picned off from puching the dryer back to far.

Dryer is heating but taking twice as long to dry clothes as it should. What could be the problem. Clothes that should take no longer than an hour is taking two hours or more.

Since you know for sure the dryer is heating, the problem most likely is lint in the dryer tube. You will have to remove the back panel of the dryer, and then remove the dryer tube. (Not the vent hose, although you may want to make sure that it and the dryer vent itself is not clogged). Remove the dryer filter and normally the 2 screws that hold the vent tube in. Remove the screws from the vent tube and get the lint out of the tube. There may also be lint around the fan. Get it all out. Be careful though, all the edges are sharp and will cut you if you slide your hand along it while "sweeping" out the lint.

Gas dryer is not drying clothes

Go out to where the vent goes outdoors and feel if any air is blowing out of there with the dryer running. If you dont feel any air then probably your vent is blocked. You will need to clean it or fix the vent pipe if it is crushed.

My dryer gets really hot, but the clothes take a long time to dry and it is really humid inside the dryer. Also, there is a weird smell almost like a burning smell.

It sounds like the dryer isn't getting enough airflow, which might mean a clog.

Make sure you clean the lint filter every time. Also, make sure the vent hose isn't kinked or clogged (if you can, remove the vent hose and clean it out.) Also check between where the vent hose connects to a wall or pipe. There could be a lint clog anywhere between the dryer and where the air leaves the house.
