Check to see if the tv is in the text mode of the closed captioning.If not you may need a new main signal board.Also try unplugging the set for a couple of hours to reset it.

Removal of stand

There are 5 screws in the back of the TV, immediately above the stand. From the stand, they are at the 10:00, 11:00, 12:00, 1:00, and 2:00 locations. If you remove the screw, and find a washer with the screw, then it's probably the right one. Once all 5 screws are removed, the stand slides right off the bottom. Unfortunately, once the stand is removed, the opening is left in the bottom. It's not too bad since once it's mounted to the wall, it's not high enough to see the bottom of the TV anyway. Good luck!
