This error message is a result of a couple of possible problems, corrupted operating system (need to reinstall or repair operating system), unbootable media (trying to boot from an unbootable hard disk or cd drive or USB device), defective hard disk or improperly installed hard disk (check cables).

This means your computer is trying to boot from an unbootable source, try the recovery again (it might have not ended successfully last time and rendered the HD unbootable), be sure there are no other CDs or floppys or usb drives attached to the computer.

First, figure out what CAUSED the problem. Often times, when Windows is rendered unbootable, there is a good reason. This can often be due to hardware failure (bad hard disk, memory or CPU for example). In these cases, the system repair function will not work. System repair will only repair your software.

I strongly recommend you run a disk utility on your hard drive before performing a system repair. You can find more information about disk utilities here:

An incorrect BIOS flash or failed flash will cause the unit to be unbootable. 
Reseat your ram and addin cards for the sake of argument.

go to the BIOS check whether it is detecting your hard disk or not , if yes , make hard disk as first booting device

hi if you are using the live cd, dont go for install. Boot it to the desktop instead of install it to the hard disk. 

If your system is bootable then follow these instructions to remove it

depends on how long you were infected your system may become unbootable or the above wont work,, in such an instance you will have no other choice but to reformat your system...
