Blac screen after the zune turns on

After I turn on my zune the zune logo appears then the screen turns black

    I reformatted the hard drive and charged it and it solved the problem. However, the problem reoccured the next day I think is a battery issue. Thank You for your help

Hi, It is one of two things. You have a dead battery or your Zune has had a software crash. Make sure your batteries are charged then try it again. If it still does it you will need to contact Microsoft for possible repair.

Try manually rebooting the Zune by holding the back button and the up direction on the pad for several seconds. Let go of the buttons when you see it restart.

My zune will not turn on
have a 30 GB Zune that crashed today while I was using it; all you need to do is press all the buttons on the front of the player for around ten seconds or so, and the logo will come onto the screen and the player will reboot. I believe the black screen means the Zune has crashed for some reason, but this method worked for me, so give it a try. (Mind you as well that I had it plugged into the computer at the time as well when I did this. But now it works just fine for me.)

My zune is lock up what do i do
To reset the zune,

1. Make sure that the Hold switch is turned off. 2. Hold down the Back button and Up on the control pad until you see the Zune logo appear on the screen.
Once the device finishes starting up, your Zune should function as normal. This procedure will not delete any of your media files.

The Zune never really turns off completely. To turn it off, hold the back button and up on the Zune pad. As soon as the screen turns black, let it go, and turn on Hold.

This will turn it off completely.

Try pressing BACK+LEFT+CENTER as it is coming on. Then reinstall the firmware.

Yes. There are several solutions to this. Rather than retype them, you may want to check out the forums at www.zune.net or support.microsoft.com.

Most likely you'll have to remove the Zune software from the PC, re-install it, reset the Zune.... I think you get the picture.
