Sub-Zero 650 / O Bottom Freezer Refrigerator Logo
Larry Tanner Posted on Dec 09, 2013

On my Sub-zero 650, the freezer drawer does not completely close.

The left side of the door is about a 1/4" from completely closing. I can press against it and it will shut, but then immediately slides away again. And it just enough that some air seeps in, causing a buildup of frost inside. Any ideas how to get the drawer to slide all the way in and stay?

SOURCE: sub-zero 550 reefridgerator top freezer bottom - refridgerator door not staying closed

Just a guess, but I would check the gasket on the door. They can go bad or get distorted and bunch up and cause the door to bind and not close properly. Also check that the fridge is leveled properly. Will the door close if pushed? Will it stay closed?

Door slow closing sub zero 650

Hi,

The door cams are worn under that door, this unit takes two, one for the door, the other for the hinge. They are different too.

Good Luck

Closing and opening a sub zero door

Maybe I'm not understanding your question completely.. You can open the doors whenever you want - as often as you like. The doors are no different than any other fridge as far as how often you can open and close them. Please clarify if I missed your intent. Thanks!

You probably have some food on the way. Unload the freezer and see if the door would close better. Looks like you have a warm air leak.

Left door open on Sub zero model 650

It went into self protection mode. Just leave it closed and when the compressor cools down enough, it will start. Once the ref starts to cool, the lights and such will come back on.

All of this assumes that no failure was caused by the long run times when the door was open

Sub Zero Freezer Vacuum

If your freezer temps are ok, it may just be that your gasket is getting older and it becomes more porus as it ages. The vacume sound doesnt really mean alot except that the difference in the room temp and the cold of the freezer create this vacume.
