Hi, my monitor screen comes on then turns all white , when I unplug monitor cable and turn off then on and plug back in to cpu it works for a second or two then turns white again. can this be a monitor cord or is it the monitor?
I have the same problem with my LCD tv... The DVI-D (white connector in the back) and the D-SUB (connector on main-board next to the DVI-D) work great for my computer. However, the antenna returns only a white screen no matter what I plug into with it using a coaxial cable. Judging by the modular configuration on the TV (1 main board with LCD monitor attached to it and the 2 computer inputs, and a smalled board on the back with the antenna, component video, S-video, mini-jack out, and composite video.) I think the smaller board which I believe is called a "NR Unit" is what has failed. I took off the back mini-panel of the TV off, which just slides off when you press down 2 tabs. And, I found the small board which is only held down by 5 small screws, and it pops right off. So, if you can find a NR board from westinghouse that works, it's a quick and easy (hopefully inexspensive) replacement. Hope this helped.
Fade to white might be caused by a bad or open connection to the backplane or bias voltage setting of the LCD. Check the connectors and cables between the LCD and the main board. Also, look for loose or disconnected ground wires.

I turn on the monitor and the screen has horizontal lines flashing so we turn up the brightness to 100 and it stops but then the screen goes to all white.
Same problem with another Westinghouse model (17 in). Screen gets progressively lighter then turns all white. Powering the monitor off for a few seconds and then back on brings the picture back but only for a short time. The longer I leave the monitor off, the longer it will display a picture before "whiteout". The monitor is a little over 1 year old.
Mine just started. Went to turn off Monitor and it turned white instead and won't turn off unless I unplug it. When I turn it on, it has horizontal lines for several minutes and then is fine until I attempt to turn it off.
I lost three of these monitors in less than one year. Nothing but a white screen. A seventeen inch monitor did the same thing after about eight months.
i have westinghouse LCM 17v2 SL and it is plugged in and nothing appears! all i have is black screen. and the computer's on but nothing! what do i do about it?
I have an asus vw192c it just turned white while i was watching a movie.
My monitor has horizontal lines "rolling". Any change in brightness stops the rolling but screen turns all white. I just leave it alone. Good picture except for the rolling horizontal lines.
I have 2 Westinghouse monitors on two computers 19" and a 21" widescreen. Both are about the same age, just over 1 year. Monitor gets hazier over time then goes completely white. Turning it off and on sometimes helps, but only for a short time. If I leave it off for a while it will work okay...for awhile. On my widescreen is use a DVI connector and the 19" I use the normal monitor connector.
I have a westinghouse monitor and the power button, actually all of the buttons no longer work. Why is this?
i have exactly same problem. westinghouse LCM that turns white after a few hours of use. I turn it off, wait an hour or so, and then back on. it works for a while, but with white horizontal lines that roll downward. eventually it all turns white again. It's about 1 year old. I think the problem is the brand, and the solution is better quality product. Does anybody know of decent brands that are still inexpensive?
I have a Westinghouse 19'' LCD Monitor and my problem is a bit different, the screen turns white after turning it off, i had the monitor for 2 years and it was working just fine until this happened. Does anyone have a solution? can it be repaired? I have to unplug the monitor everytime im done with it, its annoying having the screen white when its supposed to be black after shutting it down.
