Jake, the green wire is the ground, just attach it to one of the screws the secure the cover plate. As far as you ordering both the heater and the board, you have it covered. Catriver.

SOURCE: ice maker tube freezing up

  • change the water valve on the back of the machine.
  •  the water valve is slowly leaking water up to the icemaker where it freezes and builds up ice, blocking the water flow.

SOURCE: GE PROFILE PSS26msrd Ice maker

if the water dispenser is working normally and ice is not producing, take thr water filter out rinse it with hot water and put it back, this is the important thing to do after you put the water filter back you must hold the water filter reset button at least 3 seconds to reset the system and it should working fine.

SOURCE: the water in the in-door dispenser is coming out hot

If this freezer is like most, the water going to the dispenser is looped around many times in the refrigerator section near the back. Make sure that this is still true. It must have a lot of water cable in the refrigerator section so that the water has time to cool down before it goes out the dispensor. If for some reason the water tube is touching either the compressor motor or another hot part of the external refrigerator it could cause it to be to hot to cool down in time during its travel through the refrigerator as well as it will start to warm up the refrigerator section as well.

Also, I am sure you have tested, but make sure that you are plugged into the cold water supply and not the hot water supply. Check the water at the connector and see what the temp is at that point before it enters the refrigerator.

My guess is that the coil of water tubing that is usually in the back of the refrigerator section has been either lessend in length or the water entering the refrigerator is too hot to be cooled down in time before it reaches the dispenser.

SOURCE: Ice maker out, I need a wiring diagram. GE model

I hope you are an electronics major. The ice maker uses the most complicated and heinous electrical theory available. What usuall goes wrong are those hairline contact arms they use. They have assembly tricks only surpassed by the inscrutible oriental puzzle boxes.
For about $150 you can get another.

Ice maker water tube has ice in it

Hi David, if you are finding that the ice maker fill tube is clogged with ice, you may have a defective water valve. Sometimes water valves leak small amounts of water and drip by drip it freezes when they enter the freezer compartment. Clean the iced up fill tube and if it happens again you will need to replace the valve. Good luck.

GE Side by Side Refrig - loud noise behind the ice maker section Model PSS25SGMB BS

it sounds like the evaporator fan blade is hitting some ice that has built up around the blades i have seen this happen a lot on g.e. SxS lately,if you can remove the ice maker and dispenser you can see the fan blade,if you dont want to do this then shut down the refrigerator and leave freezer door open and heat it carefully with a hairdrier to speed the process up to melt this ice then restart it and the noise should be gone

I have a hotpoint refrigerator freezer that works fine except i am having issues with the ice maker. The tube carrying the water to the ice maker goes through a support cup. Water has started freezing in...

Make sure tube is pushed all the way into back wall tight. Then make sure tube angles downward so water completely drains. This is a goofy GE problem.

I have a ge side by side both the freezer and fridge will not cool off, we hear the fan but nothing happening

Hi,
Follow the steps mentioned below to solve the problem:
First remove the ice bin and look inside the mold of the ice maker to see if it is full of ice. If the ice sensing arm is down ( on position) and the ice maker is full of ice, there is a failure inside the ice maker and the ice maker should be replaced.
If there is no ice in the ice maker, look at the fill tube on the rear of the ice maker. If the fill tube is frozen up the ice maker can't fill.
You can defrost the fill tube with a hair dryer.
The water valve on the rear of the refrigerator supplies water to the water dispenser and the ice maker. Since the water dispenser is working, the only line that could be blocked runs up the back of the cabinet and attaches to the fill tube for the ice maker. The water valve could be bad and not sending water to the ice maker.
If the fill tube freezes again you should replace the water valve.
Hope this helps.

Ice maker waterline frozen

Occasionally these freeze up on many brands. Usually if the ice maker is not used much. There is a rubber tube that deposits water into the ice maker unit, Thaw it by warming it with your fingers. You can carefully use a hair dryer as well

Tube feeding ice maker comes off

Good day,
Common problem. Remove ice maker, and make sure tube fits all the way to the rear and seats properly.
Then reinstall ice maker and telescope front part of file tube until it fits into ice ice maker properly. (retaining clip in place).
For the cost, a new fill tube makes sense. Also.........
If the water valve leaks slightly after shutting off during a fill cycle, a plug of ice will build up inside the the fill tube, pushing it off on the next fill cycle. Requires installing a new water valve.

Ice maker water line freezes

Hi, it sounds like the water valve is leaking just enough to cause the water to freeze in the inlet tube. This is the most common fix.
If I can assist you further, please let me know.

Thanks
