Water won't pump out on any cycle, after a wash or rince cycle, machine won't spin.
Check pump for open circuit electrically, if that is fine and the pump works but just doesn't drain then its a blockage somewhere between the drum and the waste outlet, strip the pipes and clean out, taking care to note original position of any parts and wires etc
follow it backwards then, the waste pipe from the wall back to the machine, where that ends inside the machine is the pump, and you should either see a belt that drives it, or 2 wires depending on the type and style of machine
information can only be given on the information that is received, if you don't explain something in proper detail, how do you expect us to get it right first time for you
when you give detail to others without them actually looking at the machine, even the smallest silliest detail of what it is doing or not doing gives us the best clues
one line notices just will not get you the right answer, no wonder you had to stumble across it yourself, thats like just saying my car won't start
use a bit of common sense PLEASE
the answer was not meant to be snotty or talking down to you, and sorry if it came across that way, i was just trying to explain to you and anyone else reading this page that i can only give info based on what you or anyone else puts down,
i am an engineer of 20 year plus and yes we engineers can usually get it right most of the time if we get to ask the right questions, had you been on the telephone i would have asked what you may think of may be silly questions but the more info given would help to diagnose it better
I like many other trade people give time on here trying to help people save money and let them fix the appliances themselves with help from me, after all i don't have to, and yes you are right also, you don't have to come on here, but its you that wanted something for nothing in the first place to save you money on call outs, don't worry i do the same for things i don't know about
anyway all above aside, i am glad you got the appliance fixed

I have a diagram for the washing machine, it doesn't diagram the pump, just the hot, cold water switch. I have looked at the pump, nothing. The motor runs, it agitates. I don't know the wire that runs the pump.
There is a hub, I don't know what goes where inside that hub.
Any advise?
Actually the problem was the switch that locks the top loading door. It broke, and furthermore this is the 2nd time on this machine that this has happened. So it wasn't even suspected. A $20 fix.
Thanks for your help, I stumbled on this site and won't hesitate to try again.
I realize that e mail is a bad way to communicate with people you don't know, but you gave a kind of a snotty response.
I gave you the information that I saw, I didn't consider the lid. Do you think I am trying to trick you or something?
use a bit of courtisey PLEASE
maybe I won't use this site in the future...
