As your i phone key pad stopped responding.this happens due to only 1 reason if the internal key pad circuit gets short.many of my users are facing this same problem.some gets it repaired and some are NRP that is non repairable part.as they have to change the key pad circuit internally.local ipod dealers in your area sell this circuit for near to 1650 rupees. to 3000 rupees.its on the the requirement and demand of that particular ipod circuit.and the rest is how you bargain. note:the orignal ipod company does not sell this circuit.you can only get it from the local ipod dealer. ------------------------------------- before you go for this keypad circuit replacement .please check out the manual of the ipod if you dont have 1.this is the direct link for the manual http://www.fixya.com/support/p905248-apple_iphone_3g/manual-25660
------------------ you can also try it out at mumbai fort side for this circuit . please do rate the solution.thank you for using fixya.keep updated.thanks.

Hi
Take the battery out for 1 minute or 5 minutes. Turn it back on. It should work.
If resetting your iPhone doesn't help, you have to trade it in with another one. Since it is unlocked, it's technically not under the 1 year hardware warranty anymore. But you can undo this by first syncing your iPhone (it does an automatic backup of your stuff) so that all the information is saved in your iTunes, then Restore the iPhone completely. This will convert it into its original settings until you Restore backup again.
Then call 1800-MY-APPLE and tell them about your problem. If they ask if you did anything to void your warranty say no, so that they can help you further.
What they will do most likely from this point on is either send you a new iPhone, or set you an appointment with your local Apple store so you can go trade your iPhone in with another one. Once you get the new one, you can go to your iTunes and restore from backup.
Good luck!

My keypad does not work on my razor

My phone (in a cotton phone bag) was very slightly damped by a spilled drink about 4 months ago. The keyboard immediately stopped working (only power button works). My friend told me to blow dry it, so I tried and it worked.
Just today, my keyboard stopped working again even though there was no further water damage (at least not to my knowledge), I used the blower dryer trick again. and it worked again. So ... you can give it a try.
