I would check the printer in the device manager of windows 10. When you open it's properties there should be a power management tab that has checked "Allow computer to shut down device to save power." Un-check that and it should work fine afterwards.
If the print head is not located in the cartridge then you need to clean the print head as there can be stuck nozzles or debris attached to it that cause a messy print.
I am trying to solve this problem right now. Ricoh says it is mostlikely a short in the print head which unfortunately means trash the printer. If your printer has a full ink collector you can reset it. go to www.conde.com and look at tech tips it is very simple.
Are the vertical lines on the images when you view them on screen, or only after you print them on a laser printer of some kind. If the lines are on screen, your issue is in the device sensor. If the lines are on printed images, try aligning your print heads (use your printer utilities whenever you replace an ink cartridge), or take the images to a kiosk (Kodak and others have those at verious retail outlets).
